St Margaret's Children and Family Care Society has until 22 April to amend its procedures to allow same-sex couples to use its services or it will be taken off the charity register
A Catholic adoption agency has lost its appeal against a decision by the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator that it must allow same-sex couples to use its services or lose its charitable status.
The Glasgow-based St Margaret’s Children and Family Care Society asked the OSCR to review its decision after the regulator ruled that the organisation had failed the charity test because it insisted that potential adoptive parents be married for at least two years.
This meant it was in breach of the Equality Act 2010 by excluding same-sex couples from its services, the OSCR decided.

No religion shall ever be higher than the religion of the state, and all shall be subject to its whims and dogma. So a church adoption agency is no longer considered a charity, as it does not hold the state’s religion as highest.
Shut ‘er down.
Do not bow to the perverts. Shut it down.
While they would no longer have charity status, I figure their best bet would be to “offshore” the actual adoptions.
Ironically, the best place for this would be very Catholic Poland. Ironic because Scotland and Poland have a very old history together. Even Bonnie Prince Charlie had some Polish background, and many Scots have become Poles and vice versa over the centuries. Today, Scotland is a major destination for Poles seeking work.
Thus, acceptable Scottish parents would seek out an adoption, doing just the administrative part in Scotland, and parents who sought to put a child up for adoption would officially do so under Polish auspices.
The adoptive children would be quartered in Poland, but the Church might be able to wangle a Polish embassy annex in Scotland, just for that purpose, so would save much travel.
All because of Scottish government bigotry.
