Worship on Saturday or go to hell? It’s not like that’s a novel claim.

Welcome to the world of legalism. Do women have to wear head coverings?

It would be awesome if this article contained a statement that makes it clear what this guy’s beef is with Hoggard, whom I’ve never heard of.

My father grew up on a farm in Eastern Ontario early in the last century (Born 1898). His mother would prepare their Sunday meals on Saturday because they believed that no work should be done on the Sunday Sabbath. As you posted this article on Sunday, would this not be considered as 'work'?

In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus shows us that keeping The Ten Commandments is impossible because of our sin nature. In Matthew 5:48, Jesus says, "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect." Is this possible? We cannot live perfectly according to these laws of our own volition. We can strive for this, but we will fail, without absolute dependence on, and surrender to the Holy Spirit, but I do not believe that we are capable of such dependence at ALL TIMES. After all, Paul writes in Romans 7:19, "For the good that I would I do not: but the evil which I would not, that I do.", so even he fails! Remember, even Peter denied the Lord three times, breaking the ninth commandment thrice, before His crucifixion!

All that we can do is to learn to live more closely to His Will through discerning the Holy Spirit and more importantly, heeding and yielding to what the Holy Spirit says. We are Christians, we are not Christ, but we do need to grow in our Christ-likeness.

Hi Pat... With me everyday is the sabbath.. all 7 of them..

You can choose one of them though.. say Monday.. better that than nothing..
OK.. Saturday... I’m easy to get along with.. 6 UNholy days is a choice..

Quite entertaining to “watch” arguing over which day should be Holy..
I would add a “secret word” though.. If you say the secret word you get a “gift”..

With me I don’t judge which day is best.. BUT I do grade the responses and reasons for the choice..

The author appears to be either drunk, or on some drug.

The sentences don’t hang together to yield a coherent thought anywhere in the article.

Is this really the way it was published?

Get the behind me Satan!

So what? In the absence of accurate records going back to the day of Creation as to exactly how many days it has been, ANY day of the week is an arbitrary choice. Pick a day and call it the Sabbath.

Problem with all these King James guys, is that they elevate it at almost the same level as Christ Himself. The Word of God will be preserved. Flame away, your position is indefensible.

Wrong.

Colossians 2: He forgave us all our sins, 14 having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross. 15 And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross. 16 Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day. 17 These are a shadow of the things that were to come; the reality, however, is found in Christ. 18 Do not let anyone who delights in false humility and the worship of angels disqualify you for the prize. Such a person goes into great detail about what he has seen, and his unspiritual mind puffs him up with idle notions. 19 He has lost connection with the Head, from whom the whole body, supported and held together by its ligaments and sinews, grows as God causes it to grow. 20 Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: 21 "Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? 22 These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings. 23 Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body, but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

The 4th Commandment... rest on the Sabbath day.

Didn't Jesus say that man was not made for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath was made for the man. ?

When the bible tells us that God rested after he created the heavens and the earth in 6 days and on the 7th day he rested it means, all that God wanted to create was finished, no adding to it, no taking away.
Same thing when Jesus said " it is finished " .
The book of Hebrews tells us to be fearful of one thing ? least you don't enter into the rest of God.
Jesus Christ is our Sabbath.... all the work that God requires, all the demands, Jesus Christ finished it for us... in our stead.
No human can make him or her self holy in God's eyes, what Jesus meant by " be perfect for your father in heaven is perfect " is ? becoming born again, believing on Christ for your salvation, God's holiness is the gift he gives to us.
IN Christ we are made perfect, holy in God's eyes.
So yes, in effect Mike Hoggard is right, all the righteous demands, all the law requires was nailed to the cross because God killed the power of sin in the flesh by nailing it to the cross.
Saint Paul said that, had he not known the law he would not have known what sin is.
God's law is God's guilty verdict to us, all of us are made guilty in the sight of God's Law.... and no one can escape it, nor can anyone be made holy or righteous by keeping the law... so the solution was ? God sent his son Jesus Christ.
So you want to keep the law as God would have us to keep it perfectly and whole ? complete ? put on Christ, believe in Christ, and trust in Christ Jesus for your salvation.
But, we get those who say " yeah, but even the demons believe " ..... the problem is ? Jesus Christ didn't redeemed the fallen angels, nor did he die on the cross for them, nor can any fallen angel, that's what demons are, nor can demons become born again.... God decided their fate long before the world was created.
IN Christ, God took our guilty verdict and turned it into " NOT GUITLY " ... for we are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.

Jesus said be perfect for your father in heaven is perfect... how ? the imputed righteousness of Christ Jesus, that's how.

So now then ? our true Sabbath ? our true rest in God is ? Jesus Christ...

Jim, are you going to demand that this poster take down this post because it is exposing a minister? I did the same thing with rev. Jesse Lee Peterson for real corruption and perjury and you did so with me. Just wondering if you are going to be consistent.
