Why would Catholics care what the church says asbout IVF if they don’t care what the church says about birth control?

I always enjoyed making babies. At least the mixing of baby batter.

What is the reasoning behind the Church and it’s views on this and birth control?

When I was kid in the 1960s, I remember asking my mom about a couple our family knew who did not have any children. It was obvious that they loved children. My mother told me that they had lost a few babies before they were born and that for some reason they were not blessed with children. My wise mother said, and I was about ten at the time, that sometimes when a couple can not have babies it can be a sacrifice that the couple can benefit from by way of prayer and offering up their desire to God. She said that some couples decide to adopt as a result of their desire.
Would that couples who can not have children count their unfulfilled desire to reproduce as a sacrifice to God.
