The New Pope Believes He Is The Authority On How Children Should Be Raised And Educated
http://www.mommyish.com ^ | 3-13-2013 | Koa Beck

Posted on 03/13/2013 2:05:41 PM PDT by Maelstorm

The white smoke had come and gone and a new pope is among us. The Vatican has chosen Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires, Argentina. And although he’s not in favor of ”Kills the Gays” legislation like a contender (points!), he is predictably in line with the whole children need a mother and a father line of thought. Not a big shocker by any means.

The Guardian describes the archbishop turned pope as “a Jesuit intellectual” who has a very deep compassion for the poor (but not the gays!). Upon being made cardinal in 2001, Bergoglio reportedly told “hundreds of Argentinians” to not throw away money on a plane ticket to Rome to celebrate with him. He encouraged his supporters to give that plane ticket cash to the poor. The man has a heart….but not for the gays or their children:

He was a fierce opponent of Argentina’s decision to legalise gay marriage in 2010, arguing children need to have the right to be raised and educated by a father and a mother.

So nothing to really new to see here, folks, but thanks for coming out. Much like Pope Benedict XVI, I fully expect to see our new pope getting up every Christmas to rail against the evils of same-sex marriage and how it’s destroying our children one gay marriage license at a time. As opposed to, you know, not having access to health insurance via their parents’ relationship status.

This is a typical reaction. Its all about the gays and trumped up issues like insurance. All one typically has to do in order to have a child on their health insurance is to have legal guardianship and that isn't expensive. It cost me $150 dollars when I obtained full custody for my niece. Regardless it looks like I'll like this new Pope.

And Bloomberg, and Piers Morgan, and almost anyone you can name on the left. But Christians do not, in their opinion. Unless they’re a protected minority, preferably Christian In Name Only.

That was exactly what ran through my mind when I read the headline - if he is generating this sort of wailing from the usual suspects, I suspect the Catholics managed to get themselves a decent Pope.

What is this Koa Beck guy and its compete fixation with the disease of homosexuality?

I mean like this guy Koa and Homosexuality should like get a room. After all the promotion of this group as legitimate and healthy despite being defined as sinful in the bible and being biologically self-destructive, is Koa Beck’s entire world agenda.

But I guess he was being nice to this pope who didn’t even call him out on his insane ideological insistence.

PS not having health insurance does not prohibit someone from getting healthcare services. I’ve gotten lots of healthcare services without having health insurance and I ant even close to rich.

I’m not sure about that, I heard on the Radio that this new pope is a crusader on “social justice”, as defined by some university theologians.

The fact that hes not an abomination lover doesn’t say anything beyond the fact that he has some respect for that part of scripture.

Weird, that anyone should think the Catholic church would be expected to find a pro gay pope. How can this person be amazed? How deluded must they be?

Keep in mind that the "authority" he claims, is the authority to say what God says via Natural Law: that children have a natural right to the love and care of their father and mother, and parents have, in the light of that right, a natural authority and obligation to direct the education of their own children.

That's Catholic doctrine.

And Natural Law.

And this pope is -- surprise! and against all Enemedia speculations--- a Catholic.

I agree but of course this is the same kind of homocentricism that is common. Everything is about affirming the gay which if it weren’t for the prevalence of the gay thought police would be laughable. Its as if we have new gay litmus test for everything. Its stupid but becoming more and more dangerous to our personal liberties.

I am no prophet, but this man is already looking like God has sent him to save us from what happened to Sodom.

He could be our last chance before the destruction.

We will have to wait and see if he lives up to his billing as an anti-sodom Pope.

"Social justice" is pretty vague, and actually a rather ambiguous term. He has been against the "Liberation Theology" wing for decades; he is a leading light in Comunione e Liberazione, a conservative Church moivement hich is outspokenly agains Marxism, especially in the aggressively Marxist university milieux in Italy and Latin America. So presumably there are some "University theologians" who know the difference between social justice and Marxism.

Could be he opposes the rich Obamunist banksters, which I don't have any opinion on unless you twist my arm WAY back. And then I'll say, "I'm agin' gangsters and banksters."

It's not something that comes up "de fide," anyhow. Meaning if it's not a doctrine on faith and morals, it's "prudential judgment," and therefore not a question on which he can speak with authority.

Thou shalt not steal.

Thou shalt not covet.

Whatevery you did unto the least of My brethren, you did unto Me.

Those are the authoritative statements.

“We live in the most unequal part of the world, which has grown the most yet reduced misery the least,” Bergoglio told Latin American bishops in 2007, according a recent profile in the National Catholic Reporter. “The unjust distribution of goods persists, creating a situation of social sin that cries out to Heaven and limits the possibilities of a fuller life for so many of our brothers.” --Cardinal Bergoglio

There is nothing wrong with the church promoting social justice as long as they use their ministries and own money to do it. The problem is when it enmeshes itself with what government ought to do.

Exactly and the idea that there is something wrong with disagreeing with biologically and theologically incorrect sex and relationships shouldn’t be used as a measure of compassion. I have compassion for many people especially those who are trapped in negative situations and lifestyles but please forgive me if I don’t praise and enable them to their own demise.

**
And he’s right. Parents everywhere have abdicated their responsibilties to publik government skools, and even the medical liberal establishment.

I cannot tell you how they are beating us over the head wtih the idea that we have to ask parents to leave the room when we counsel adolescents ....young people at a very vulnerable time in life ...and yet we simply are asking that WE, and not their parents, give them guidance on important isssues. Why do we have to speak to these children alone without their parents? What is there to hide?

Many parents are simply drunk, on drugs, or just plain GONE out of their children’s lives ...or one parent is gone ... or the other is more interested in watching whatever sports game is one, or what time American Idol comes on ...or how much money they made in the markets that day ...or on the golf course ...or wherever.

It’s what’s wrong with our entire world ....horrible parenting, lack of family ... look what it leads to!

Parents have the authority ....they need to reclaim it and stand up to this overbearing nanny-State crap.

How is it a pity?

I would argue that such an unjust distribution exists in socialist societies, or in tyrannies like those of Hugo Chavez.

I would look at the man’s track record before impulsively jumping (though I wish more of the elders in the Vatican would catch on to what passes nowadays as Liberal Lingo).

Your exactly right. So many people in the world don't know how to live because no one teaches them the truth of God's word. Like abortion. Young girls think, if it's wrong the government would not let me do it, so they buy into the lie that if the majority of people think it's ok, then it must be. We need good pastors/priest teaching us of God's word and how He says we should live. I'm watching “The Truth Project” again and it's wonderful. It talks about how people who don't believe in God or who don't know God's word will believe anything they are told. That is what is wrong with our country today.
