O LORD, the hope of Israel, all who forsake you shall be put to shame; those who turn away from you shall be written in the earth, for they have forsaken the LORD, the fountain of living water.

Our Father In Heaven

Hallowed Be Your Name.
We Lift Up Our Nation To You Today.
We Ask that You lead Us and Guide Us,
And Grant Your Precious Wisdom to Our Nation's Leaders.
We Ask Particularly that You Inspire Our leaders,
With regards to the Middle East.
Give back the desire for integrity and honesty in our dealings with our allies.

We ask that You open the eyes of Your people.
Please, we Pray,
Give Us All Insight to Your Will For Our Land.
We pray for Our Nation's Economy.
We pray for those without jobs, that You will bring back
Our Nation's Productivity and Initiative.
We ask You to help find dignified and appropriate work for those who seek it.
We pray for Our Free Enterprise System,
that it will not be submerged in outmoded and discredited socialism.
Father, We Pray for Our Beloved American Heroes and Their Families.
We Pray for Strong and Godly Wisdom to Guide Us.
Touch Every American's Heart,
So That Each and Every One Will Say A Prayer For Our American Heroes,
Lifting Them and Their families up in Prayer and Support,
Let Nobody Forget Their Sacrifice For our Freedom!

Keep Us Vigilant,
In Jesus Name.
Amen.

For Our Beloved Troops

Our Father,
Who Art In Heaven,
Blessed and Hallowed Be Your Most Holy Name!
You Are My Refuge and my Strength,
My very Present Help In Times Of trouble.
Your Are The One Who trains My Hands For War,
and Comforts My Heart in times of Stress.
You Are My Rock and My Redeemer,
My Strength and My Song,
My Fortress and My High Tower,
My Sword and My Shield.
I Will Not Fear The Enemy,
For If You Be With me,
Who Can Stand Against me?
For It Is Not By Might,
Not By Power,
and Not even by superior firepower and technology
that we shall overcome,
but By Your Holy Spirit,
Precious LORD, My God!
You Alone are My Strength and Song.
Some trust in Chariots,
Some in Horses,
but I depend upon You,
and You Alone.
Keep Me in Your Tender Care, Dear Father,
Keep Me In That Secret Place Under Your Wing.
Cover me With Your Feathers,

Make It Count

In his battle with cancer, Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple Inc., said: “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything—all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure—these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important.” His suffering influenced the choices he made.

In contrast, the apostle Peter wanted to motivate his readers to use their suffering to make their lives count for eternity. And he wanted Jesus’ suffering and death to inspire them to accept the spiritual conflict and persecution that would result from bearing the name of Jesus. Because they loved Jesus, suffering was going to be normative. Jesus’ suffering was to serve as motivation to give up sinful passions and to be obedient to the will of God (1 Peter 4:1-2). If their lives were going to count for eternity, they needed to stop indulging in fleeting pleasures and instead exhaust their lives on what pleased God.

Remembering that Jesus suffered and died to forgive our sins is the most important thought we have to inspire us to make godly choices today and to make our lives count for eternity.

Jesus, You have suffered and died to forgive our sin;
may Your death and resurrection inspire us to never
return to where we’ve been. Help us in our resolve
to live for Your will alone.
Jesus’ death forgave my past sins and inspires my present obedience.

Joining in prayer for our country, our heroes, and the Middle East.

May during these difficult times for our nation we look to the Lord for help and not the clever machinations of men that have failed. May we not forsake our troops, but give them thanks and support for their sacrifices. In Jesus Name, Amen

Dear LORD, this is the reality for many of our brave fighting men and women. Unfortunately many deaths occur when they are not even fighting, as with the marines who have lost their lives this past week. OH LORD, with sacrifice comes sacrifice, and YOU are the LORD and LEADER of such. We thank YOU for all the hearts and souls of our service men and women who walk in the ways of the LORD through sacrifice and love. We pray for the families who are now mourning. Here again, LORD, YOU know this sorrow. In the LOVE of the FATHER, and YOUR Death on the CROSS with the EYES of the SPIRIT surveying all, the ETERNAL GODHEAD experienced our death and in GLORY has overcome it…AMEN. OH LORD, we can only hope that the souls of these ones are at rest in YOU. We can only pray in HOPE that the souls of those who are still fighting will be held by YOU. I can only hope that my Jake will be secure in YOU too. Amen.
