It is amazing that the Church is still standing when one considers the unwillingness of bishops like these to apply the Code of Canon Law to such serious matters as the sacrilegious reception of Holy Communion. It makes me wonder what else they are “letting go.”
One of the most stinging indictments of the Irish abuse crisis was that the bishops utterly failed to apply the Church’s own Code to the perpetrators. If they had, the number of victims would have been a tiny fraction of those who suffered in the end. Where bishops hold the law in contempt, injustice flourishes and innocents suffer. If for nothing else, they should have a mind to their own eternal fate.
How sad. But, of course, these bishops and priests place their own souls in mortal jeopardy by cleverly misleading homosexuals into believing that their activity is “almost” okay, but just not quite right––at least not yet. As a result, these poor gay-oriented souls will die and face the real truth, the Eternal Truth, without ever having had the benefit of at least being told just how terribly sinful and offensive homosexual acts are against God. But the, so-called, “shepherds” who are “leading these little ones astray”, will find as promised by Jesus Christ, that their actions will most assuredly lead them both to “fall into the pit”...crosier,mitre and all.
They’re getting excited over nothing ... the tone may have changed but the Church’s views won’t.
I KNOW the stances of these cardinals...
But in case you haven’t noticed, the trend is to embrace SSM and the cynic in me wouldn’t be surprised if the cards didn’t sign up too...
