Long-time evangelical Left leader Jim Wallis

There is no such thing as an "evangelical Left" Christian. Only Leftists pretending to be evangelical Christians to dupe the ignorant into buying into the Left's Godless agenda.

Wallace is going to save the hens by allowing the foxes into the henhouse to guard them up close.
We can kiss traditional marriage goodbye.

Believe it or not, Jim Wallis and Sojourners used to be pro-life (yes, in the sense of anti-abortion) and pro-family (in the sense of mom, dad, and the kids) 30 years ago.

They were. You could check it out in their archives, if the archives go back that far.

He must know --- because he doesn't live under a rock --- that the LGBT agenda is centered on the deconstruction of sex, gender, marriage and family. Which means --- and sooner rather than later--- the deconstruction childhood, of personhood, and of a sustainable society.

I don't see how he thinks he can "strengthen" marriage by deconstructing it. It's like "strengthening housing" via termites, dry rot, and dynamite.

He seems to be exactly midway between the two principle phases of human history:

Neither Wallis nor Obama hold biblical positions. But, what would we expect from communists?

As we all suspected, being a Christian isn’t a requirement to be an evangelical left leader. (whatever that is)

Evangelical left is an oxymoron.

I actually subscribed to Sojourners for a couple years, back in the early '80s. What little I recall of it was that it was pretty tedious.

The net accessible archive for the Sojourners magazine gets real sporadic before the mid-1990s.

What else would a tool of antiChrist opine? At least he’s no longer pretending to be orthodox in his theology.

Some conservatives are slow to understand that the State corrupts everything it touches. Everything, without exception, is subject to corruption by the State, but it especially pernicious when it is centralized in a national or federal government.

That’s why the State should not be involved in religion. Christians should spurn government’s “faith-based initiatives” even if they seem appealing at first.

Of course, there are numerous other examples: old age pensions, health insurance, education, agriculture, banking and credit, mortgage lending, for example. Most of the list used to be updated annually in the federal budget, but Congress has botched that as well.

So its pro gay-marriage approval that removes the hinges of adherence to faithful scriptural doctrines of ones faith?
Unbelievable—the Bible’s position on homosexuality/lesbianism is irrefutable. Isn’t the marriage supper of The Lamb to his Church a most holy teaching? Any true Christian cannot support gay marriage—an abomination!

” you can be supportive of same-sex couples”

Why just couples, Jim? If three gay men love each other, who are you to block the courthouse door?

So, given his reasoning, he will have no problem with Polygamy and Incestuous Marriage.

“Evangelical left is an oxymoron.”

Mom was a naive preacher’s wife, barely a year into Dad’s first pastorate. Someone in church mentioned being a democrat. Mom gasped and said, “But you CAN’T be a Christian and be a democrat!” Pretty funny. She’s 88 now, no longer naive, but still very outspoken.
