Perhaps interpreting the early Christians sharing as wealth (Acts 4) as a Biblical mandate for socialism and redistribution of wealth at the barrel of a gun.
That's what I would say.
Could be. God has predestined believers to be conformed to Jesus, but I think all of us try to make God conform to OUR image.

Let’s not forget interpreting scripture mentions of sobriety to mean that alcohol must be banned, or the oft-misquoted “unequally yolked” bit to oppose mixed race marriage.
He days he's talked to three different Bishops about it over the years and they all said about the same thing, that the Second Amendment and the Church both recognize the right of people to own firearms of all sorts and no controls should infringe that right. If that really is the opinion most of them have, I sure wish they'd spell it out clearly and make the point that they recognize the right go own the means to defend yourself instead of looking like they'd go along with all sorts of restriction.
