The Chaplet of St. Michael the Archangel In Latin



V. Deus, in adiutórium meum inténde.

O God, come to my assistance

R. Dómine, ad adiuvándum me festína.

O Lord, make haste to help me.

V. Glória Patri, et Fílio, et Spirítui Sancto.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son,
and to the Holy Spirit.

R. Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.

As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end. Amen.


[Say one Our Father and three Hail Marys after
each of the following nine salutations in
honor of the nine Choirs of Angels]


I. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Séraphim cæléstis, Dóminus
nos dignos effíciat incéndi igne caritátis
perféctæ. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Seraphim may the Lord
make us worthy to burn with the fire of perfect
charity. Amen.


II. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Chérubim cæléstis, Dóminus
nobis grátiam relínquere vias peccáti det et in
vias perfectiónis Christiánæ decúrrere. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Cherubim may the Lord
grant us the grace to leave the ways of sin
and run in the paths of Christian perfection.
Amen.


III. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Thronórum cæléstis, infúndat
Dóminus córdibus nostris spíritum humilitátis
verum sincerúmque. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Thrones may the Lord infuse
into our hearts a true and sincere spirit of humility.
Amen.


IV. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Dominatiónum cæléstis, Dóminus
nobis grátiam det sensus gubernáre et carnem
petulántem superáre. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Dominations may the Lord
give us grace to govern our senses and
overcome any unruly passions. Amen.


V. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Potestátum cæléstis, Dóminus
ánimas nostras contra insídias et tentatiónes
diáboli deféndat. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Powers may the Lord protect
our souls against the snares and temptations of
the devil. Amen.


VI. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Virtútum cæléstis, Dóminus
nos a malo et cadéndo in tentatiónem
consérvet. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Virtues may the Lord
preserve us from evil and falling into
temptation. Amen.


VII. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Principatórum cæléstis, Dóminus
ánimas nostras spíritu vero obœdiéntiæ ímpleat.
Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Principalities may God fill
our souls with a true spirit of obedience.
Amen.


VIII. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Archangelórum cæléstis, Dóminus
nobis constántiam in fide et óminibus
opéribus bonis det, ut glóriam Paradísi
obtineámus. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Archangels may the Lord
give us perseverance in faith and in all good
works in order that we may attain the glory of
Heaven. Amen.


IX. Per intercessiónem Sancti Michaëlis
et cappéllæ Angelórum cæléstis, Dóminus
nos ab eis in hac vita mortále conservári
det et in vitam futúram perdúci. Amen.

By the intercession of St. Michael and the
celestial Choir of Angels may the Lord grant
us to be protected by them in this mortal life
and conducted in the life to come to Heaven.
Amen.

enable us by your gracious protection
to serve God more and more faithfully every day.

be delivered from all our enemies,
that none of them may harass us at the hour
of death, but that we may be conducted by
him into Your Presence.This we ask through
the merits of Jesus Christ Our Lord.

I made some modifications from his/their original
translations at fisheaters for my post.

I hope the Church will come out with an official
Latin version of this wonderful Chaplet.

Any Latin enthusiasts more gifted than myself please
make any corrections where necessary.

Being one of those post-Vatican II “novus ordo” Catholics born in 1977, I cannot speak Latin, although I’m trying to learn. Anyway, this is my favorite Chaplet that I love to pray. The prayers are so beautiful! Don’t tell Our Lady, but I actually love this over the Rosary! Shhhhh......

Thank you for posting this. I believe we should spread the message of this Chaplet as much as possible since these times really do necessitate the intercession of St Michael!

The Divine Mercy Chaplet and the Rosary along with St. Michael's Chaplet are my daily devotions.
