Televangelist Benny Hinn has asked supporters of his ministry for $2.5 million in donations, which he says an anonymous donor will match dollar by dollar to help him get out of debt.
"God wants your ministry to be completely out of debt, and I want to plant an anointed seed that will help you take a giant step toward becoming totally debt-free!" says the anonymous man, whom Hinn calls a "long-time and beloved" friend.
"God has laid it on my heart to plant a seed of $2.5 million into your ministry, but God only wants me to make this gift if the ministry partners match the amount within 90 days! I feel so strongly that He wants them to be part of the supernatural wealth transfer that is coming to every believer who will obey God's Word," the man reportedly adds.
..The preacher has been criticized for using his ministry's money to buy a private jet and luxury cars, but the exact state of his finances has been kept under wraps.
Earlier in April, Hinn led a large service in Trinidad and Tobago where the minister apparently asked the thousands in attendance to each give a $100 donation to help pay for the two-day event
The Texas televangelist has built his ministry around the idea that if people help the Christian Church, including his own, by offering financial support, then God will reward them and even double their fortunes.
"Imagine not dreading going to the mailbox, no bills piling up on your counter, and no calls from collectors coming to your home. God wants to wipe your debt out! Every bit of it ... and in the next 90 days!" Hinn says on his website.

Not Benny Hill
But I think Benny Hill is funnier
what happened to his mansions, yacht and private jet?
is that where the debt came from?
I can't imagine why.
As always, it came from wine, women and song.
name it and claim it, prosperity gospel bs.
I’m a little uncomfortable about that whole annointed seed placing thing.
Tha just sounds... dirty
Just... yeah, hahahahahahahaha
Palestinian on acid
Oh, they are still there. He just doesn’t want to have to make PAYMENTS on them.
Would you please, out of the kindness of your heart and love of Jesus Christ make sure that this schmuck who lives a life most of would dream of, and hope we have enough money to buy our family meat next week, make sure that he does not have to make a payment his limo and yacht?
I’m sure Jesus would love the ‘seed money.’
“Texas televangelist” my big toe, he sounds like he came from India - land where stupid religions are born
That crap didn’t start until the late 60’s.
it would be like holding telethons for celebrities
In all fairness, he does have boat payments mortgages. How do you expect him to get that money?
If we don’t call in now, Benny will have to sell his 40foot yach for a 30 footer. We can’t let that happen.
I remember the late Gene Scott, another TV preacher, bellowing on late night TV, exhorting his followers to send in more donations “So I can buy another race horse!” At least he was honest about his intentions.
Watchman Nee said that if a man does not have enough faith to trust God to provide all of his needs without ever mentioning his needs to man - he does not have enough faith to even be in the ministry.
I agree 100%.
Benny Hinn a man of faith? I think not. His debt exposes and declares the truth. Same is true for so many other prominent ministers. The vast majority are condemned by this standard. Read what Paul said to the Ephesian elders in Acts 20 - he revealed what his standard, and that of our Lord, was. This is the standard and bar for all who would say they are called of The Lord and represent His interests.
It is so sad. So many are duped.
Nope, the good old USA, where even stupider religions are born.
Just another huckstering TV televangalist, like the 700 Club and others, preying on the stupidity and gullibility of little old ladies and anyone else they can con.
And more honest, and not $2.5 million in debt.
Don’t forget the makeup. I bet the cosmetic budget for that bunch has to run several hundred thousand a year!
I hope house churches make a big comeback
Send $99.95 now and get 2 SHAM WOWS for the price of one. Clean up debts twice as fast.
Change of plan: save money! God only wants you to contribute $2.4 million. Send to my address.
There is likely no 'donor'. That is just a come on to get others to donate.
"Why just yesterday one of your neighbors bought an entire case from me. I'm almost out, so you better buy one before it's too late."
Born Jaffa ...old beach area Tel Aviv
Dresses like it, doesn't he.
Well... he wasn't born in India. He was born in Israel.
that and phony hearings.....these type of hucksters are an embarrassment
Plus the fact that Scott actually did a lot of teaching of the Gospel. His sermons on the resurrection and its proof is still one of the best ever
In December 2006, BHM sent out a mailing asking for donations towards a new Gulfstream G4SP jet valued at an estimated US$36 million and costing over US$600,000/year to maintain and operate. The 22-seat craft was purchased in 2007 and christened "Dove One."
Has Benny Hinn ever heard of Pope Francis?
You should not mention that on here. : ) I did a few months ago and some. poster thought I needed help for not supporting these people. Most are money hungry and. I refuse to help them buy a larger house, a newer plane, etc. They need to live like the poorer people sending in lots of money thinking they will get rich. They need to start teaching the Bible verse by verse. Their getting richer will not help anyone get to heaven.
Years ago I read the book “Good Morning Holy Spirit” by Benny Hinn and it seemed like it presented an excellent way to live your life. I wonder what happened?
I seem to remember from his book that he was born in Haifa, on the coast of Isreal. It was part of the intrigue. Maybe he lied though....
fame and money?
I guess you never really know any more
It became “Good Morning Money!”
<REF: Oral Roberts>
What a jerk.
How Christ like.
“Watchman Nee said that if a man does not have enough faith to trust God to provide all of his needs without ever mentioning his needs to man - he does not have enough faith to even be in the ministry.”
Would you happen to know what book of Nee’s that comment comes from?
Do people not remember Jim Bakker? Or is everyone involved in supporting this bozo under the age of about 45?
Benny probably says the Pope is a dope for not adopting the prosperity gospel
So those Catholic properties worth millions just kind of happened!
And doesn’t Pope Francis live in a mansion, have the best security and airplanes too.
Your etymology actually starts with original Greek.
I wouldn’t give Benny Hinn a wooden nickel. He fleeced many folks in Orlando when he had his cult down here. This guy is no Christian. I worked with a guy who had most of his retirement savings fleeced by Hinn
