Catholic ping!
May he rest in peace.
Oh, too bad.
Quite a shock & such a young age. Only 65. Sounds cardiovascular in nature.
May the bishop rest in peace. I hope he is receiving his reward.
May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the Mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
May he receive a merciful judgment and an eternal reward. Dear Lord, receive your servant in peace.

Just got the word.God bless him and Eternal Rest.

Lord God, Jesus Christ, rest the soul of Thy servant Joseph with the saints and comfort his flock.

O God,
Thou didst raise Thy servant, Joseph,
to the sacred priesthood of Jesus Christ,
according to the Order of Melchisedech,
giving him the sublime power to offer the Eternal Sacrifice,
to bring the Body and Blood of Thy Son Jesus Christ down upon the altar,
and to absolve the sins of men in Thine own Holy Name:
We beseech Thee to reward his faithfulness and to forget his faults,
admitting him speedily into Thy Holy Presence,
there to enjoy forever the recompense of his labors.
This we ask through Jesus Christ Thy Son, our Lord.
Amen.
I knew him well. I can’t believe he’s gone. He was a good man and a strong voice for Life while he served here in Philadelphia.
If you see posts of interest to Pennsylvanians, please ping me.
Thanks!
Thanks lightman for the heads up
We barely got to know him here in the Harrisburg Diocese.
