HOUSTON (AP) - A judge ruled Wednesday that cheerleaders at a Southeast Texas high school can display banners emblazoned with Bible verses at football games.
State District Judge Steve Thomas determined the Kountze High School cheerleaders' banners are constitutionally permissible. In a copy of the ruling obtained by Beaumont station KFDM, Thomas determined that no law "prohibits cheerleaders from using religious-themed banners at school sporting events."

This judge nailed it! There is no law of any kind to prevent this. It is not prohibited by the Constitution either.

It’s about time they rule that public school students are not “the state” or “the church”
But that would set a bad precedent: it might lead to them not being considered subservient to the state.
What? You mean that cheerleaders are not powerful enough to establish a state religion by waving a banner? I thought those girls could do everything and spoke for the federal government.
O RLY? I was sure the Texas legislature had thought to prohibit this dreadful crime, specifically!
