Christ Himself and St.Paul certainly didn't "think" it was "utter nonsense"(sic). What is utter nonsense is the ignorance of Scripture that abounds in the minds of the obtuse.

"This is the bread which cometh down from heaven; that if any man eat of it, he may not die. I am the living bread which came down from heaven. If any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever; and the bread that I will give, is My flesh, for the life of the world. The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying: How can this Man give us His flesh to eat? Then Jesus said to them: Amen, amen I say unto you: Except you eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink His blood, you shall not have life in you. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, hath everlasting life: and I will raise him up in the last day. For My flesh is meat indeed: and My blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My flesh, and drinketh My blood, abideth in Me, and I in him. As the living Father hath sent Me, and I live by the Father; so he that eateth Me, the same also shall live by Me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna, and are dead. He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever. These things he said, teaching in the synagogue, in Capharnaum. Many therefore of his disciples, hearing it, said: This saying is hard, and who can hear it? But Jesus, knowing in Himself, that His disciples murmured at this, said to them: Doth this scandalize you? If then you shall see the Son of man ascend up where He was before? It is the spirit that quickeneth: the flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I have spoken to you, are spirit and life. But there are some of you that believe not. For Jesus knew from the beginning, who they were that did not believe, and who He was, that would betray Him. And He said: Therefore did I say to you, that no man can come to Me, unless it be given him by My Father. After this many of his disciples went back; and walked no more with Him. Then Jesus said to the twelve: Will you also go away? And Simon Peter answered Him: Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life." John 6:50-69

Admit it, you would have been beating feet too.

"Therefore whosoever shall eat this bread, or drink the chalice of the Lord unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and of the blood of the Lord. But let a man prove himself: and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of the chalice. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh judgment to himself, not discerning the body of the Lord." 1 Corinthians 11:27-29

"And account the longsuffering of our Lord, salvation; as also our most dear brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, hath written to you: As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are certain things hard to be understood, which the unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, to their own destruction." 2 Peter 3:15-16

I am the living bread which came down from heaven

And What/Who came down from heaven? The Word who become flesh. The Living Bread is The WORD.

"Jesus answered and said, It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every WORD that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matt 4:4

"The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the ONE and only Son, who came from the Father, full of Grace and TRUTH." John 1:14

>> He that eateth this bread, shall live for ever.<<

So no Catholic has ever died?

>>Admit it, you would have been beating feet too.<<

Not likely. It is I who understands that they were not literally eating physical flesh. The Jewish people (and Catholics) don’t understand that. It’s just that Catholics have been duped into believing it’s ok to eat human flesh.
