The pope and the devil: Francis' obsession with Satan leads to ... (barf)

Is Pope Francis an exorcist?

The question has been swirling ever since Francis laid his hands Sunday on the head of a young man after celebrating Mass in St. Peter's Square. The young man heaved deeply a half-dozen times, convulsed and shook, and then slumped in his wheelchair as Francis prayed over him.

(snip)

Fueling the speculation is Francis' obsession with the devil, a frequent subject of his homilies.

That is exactly what the enemy wants you to think — that he is not real.

Satan is the inventor of stealth technology.

The quotation says that one of the devil’s best tricks is to convince us that he does not exist.

For what it’s worth:

It's not worth anything...

You are still a Catholic; the marks of Baptism and Confirmation will never go away. They are permanent. You will be identified as a Catholic at the moment of your death.

Your religion lied to you...There will be no Catholics in heaven...Only born again Christians...

The only person Pope Francis is “obsessed with” is Jesus Christ and His Saving Power. Since Satan is the enemy of God and of His son, Jesus, it stands to reason that PF would also be antagonistic to Satan and his legions of followers.

This may be too difficut a concept for non-believers to appreciate or understand.

I would say that the Pope isn’t (as I wasn’t) referring to the entitlement-class people who, largely through long-term government policies, have become lazy and complacent.

Interestingly, many of the poor in other parts of the world are also that way because of government interference. Look at sub-Saharan Africa, where despotic rulers steal food provided by relief agencies for little other purpose than to maintain control over their starving populace.

Shame on them (and us) all.

satan fears God and thus fears the pope calling on God, enough to flee!

And that scares the AP. Why?

Seeing this, will Obama ever meet the pope?

I have been impressed from the beginning with his focus on the servant nature of Jesus and our responsibility to care for the poor among us.

AMAZING... the Sun (UK) headlined this that the Pope is "embroiled in scandal" for performing this "strange ritual" on a "fan." http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/4936655/pope-francis-caught-on-video-performing-strange-ritual-on-fan.html#ixzz2TwDcEjcS

If you look at the video you can see that Pope Francis places his hands on the boy's head and prays inaudibly, and the boy gasps and exhales hard about 4 times. The whole thing takes about 5 seconds. That's it. Then Francis goes on greeting other people in the crowd.

You're right, Mt. Athos, nothing bizarre about it: every Baptism in fact includes an exorcism.

Thank God for the "normal Christianity" of Pope Francis.

Somebody explain the "strangeness" of AP, news.yahoo, and the Sun.

wow how did my original comment get deleted.

Anyway I just said every baptism is an exorcism, don’t understand why people say it is rare or unusual

I loved your pic of the little boy that tells Satan to back off because he belongs to Jesus --- and then it disappeared! :o(

Can you tell me where to find it?

Sorry pal, I have the words of God...And God never speaks of a Catholic, baptized or otherwise...

Heaven is for born again Christians...

Your religion invented itself...There are no Catholics in the scriptures...And there are no examples of Catholics in the scriptures except in the very negative sense...
