Perhaps we need to pray for the second coming
After reading headlines and the news this morning, I realized that the only way out of our rush to chaos, is to find a leader who can awaken the sleeping, invigorate the downhearted, punish the guilty and annihilate the evil.
I have no other idea of how we can deal with the reality of our world today.
May we be blessed by the Lord, Our God, once more. Amen
I am so ready.
I’m getting so very frustrated with the people of the world and of America especially. When will we realize that ONLY GOD is in charge.
Please forgive my usurpation of FR to have a tantrum. This is one of the very few places left where I feel free to share these thoughts.
chesty! I haven’t seen you in so long. I’m ready too.
So am I!Thomas Jefferson believed that it would require a well-educated,informed electorate to preserve this Republic!!We have NEITHER!!!The public-education system of The Left has seen to this!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is going to much more suffering prior to the second coming.
I'm willing to face it, but let's get it over with! Praise the Lord.
You mean everything that happens, God is responsible for?
"Narrow is the way, broad is the path/road and Few there be that find it. "Matthew 7:14 KJV - ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
www.biblegateway.com/ " ... Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it..."
We may not have to pray too hard, I think Jesus is at the door.
As a former teacher, I would normally try to help you understand that I'm not talking about responsibility, but about humility and power. As was pointed out earlier, our education system has gone sideways in the last thirty or so years. So, just read this already provided Biblical exhortation, and start praying.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." - 2 Chronicles 7:14
No need to find Him, He's not lost, 'He's ALIVE and Active. Sharper than any double-edged sword and penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; and judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.' Heb 4:12
punish the guilty and annihilate the evil.
It Is written Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19
"Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather GIVE PLACE UNTO WRATH: for it is written, ....."
I had some physical and mental problems, but I'm back good as new. Well good as a 61 yr old should be.
No, otherwise Satan would have no guilt.
It won’t be long now. The pope is paving the way for the Anti-Christ to come as he has just spoken out saying we are all saved, even non-believers, thus denying John 3:16 and John 14:6.
I this lie is what is necessary for the world to hear so that they will accept the anti-Christ.
Some folks are going to be surprised when Jesus comes again to take his church to heaven.
You said ONLY God is in charge. What does that mean?
Woe unto you that desire the day of the LORD! to what end is it for you? the day of the LORD is darkness, and not light. / As if a man did flee from a lion, and a bear met him; or went into the house, and leaned his hand on the wall, and a serpent bit him. / Shall not the day of the LORD be darkness, and not light? even very dark, and no brightness in it?Read the following verses, too.
As a 68-year-old, I understand. Welcome back, I think (considering the state of the world, that is.)
I pray for it every day. I look up every day. Multiple times a day.
didn’t that happen when obama was reelected?
No offense but there are plenty of other peoples around the world doing far more evil, out in public, than America. we at least have the ability to expose and fight back through various channels. And it’s always a minority of people that take advantage of their ability to do so, that’s not new either.
Even so,Come Lord Jesus
Perhaps, praying for the second coming is too self-serving.
Yes, that’s why I’m not worried. Good stuff happens, bad stuff happens...it’s the way the world is. Every generation has had good and bad stuff happen, I don’t think we’re an exception.
Lamentations is the book to read before we pray for the wrath of God to be fulfilled on earth. I am a post-tribber, my hope being the peace of the world when the Messiah rules from Jerusalem, but I sweat bullets thinking about what happens before. As devastating as reading that a 15 yr old boy in Utah murdered his 10 and 4 year old adopted brothers. Sickeningly saddened. It was the violence of man that God regretted and sent the flood. And now we have world wide women’s health care — world wide child sacrifice.
Any theologians out there who can summarize a thought about the difference between personal judgment before the throne and when NATIONS are judged? After death vs during life? Anyone do any studies on that?
The problem is it has worked too well, and we are now well on the path to imposition of a global socialist/fascist allied with islamofascism against the wishes of the remnant population of Americans who still think as Americans. The remnant population is currently a majority, but divided because of the destruction of the education system and the development of the low information voter. Those of us who are knowledgable Americans and who are alarmed at the rise of tyranny are currently a minority. Not a small minority, as were the marxists in the 1960s, but a minority.
Things do not look good for our side. To reverse the trend and restore a country that even remotely resembles America requires a miracle. It requires defeat of amnesty bills, enforcement of immigration laws, victory in Congress and obtaining the Presidency in 2016, the political will to reverse all that Obama did in the next administration and to start reversing the welfare state in spite of the firestorm in the media, and THEN a long, slow march through the institutions (education, the media, entertainment, churches, bureaucracies, etc.) by conservatives to match the march that leftists have been on since the early 20th century. You can't replace the teachers and the journalists in one fell swoop, it will take decades, 50 years or more.
I don't see it happening. The left had its manifesto, and its leadership that imposed political correctness and organized the strategy, and it took them 100 years to get to this point. We don't have that kind of freedom or time. There weren't databases in 1920, just files in a cabinet. The light of freedom is flickering. The best we have, Limbaugh, Cruz, Rand Paul, Jim DeMint, Sarah Palin, don't command armies of blindly obedient drones, and don't have a long term strategy for retaking the country beyond trying to stop the left from destroying what's left of our freedom. No one is on the horizon to be that person, either.
The situation of the 60s may now be reversed. Freedom loving constitutionalists are the upstarts, the fringe nutjobs. Everyone else either doesn't care, doesn't know or approves of the imposition of a leftist tyranny. We are in a position where we have to create conditions that allow us to defeat the left and restore America when it can't be done by using the system as it has been defiled.
How? I would suggest a Cloward Piven of the right. Rather than let another 10, 20, 30 years go by, when we are fewer, fringier, older and weaker, and then say, "enough! It's time to fight", we still have the country and the military right now. (Imagine the homosexualized military in 20 years). We need to collapse the system sooner rather than later. Kind of a variation of Atlas Shrugged, but only one aspect of the collapse would be from "going Galt". Part of it could be doing whatever we can to use the absurdities of the liberal economic and political policies against it--from applying for welfare and subsidies to dumping treasuries to letting illegals take all the jobs. Don't fight the stupidity, pile it on and let it collapse of its own weight. Then, an organized and determined movement of the American remnant might just be able to rise from the chaos, led by the states that have not yet been overtaken by foreigners and the 47 percent.
You can see this in Daniel when Daniel is shown the road-map of how various kingdoms (Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome) will be raised up and then cast down.
More modern example: Nazi Germany was judged by God. He used people to execute it...but it was his decision that Germany would be defeated.
There are things that must happen first before His Second Coming, but yes, we should pray for the Return of our Lord. He is the Only One who can fix things.
Jesus is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
“denying John 3:16 and John 14:6”
And it always amazes me when I see it in action and people actually defending it.
Jesus will come when God decides. Until then my work is to help unbelievers to Christ. As much as I disagree with what anybody does I don’t want to see them go to hell.
Keep yer chin up. No need to pray for His return as He has ordained that it will occur. Many of us, myself included, have a problem with just trusting in Him and not getting tied up in the worldly things. About the only thing we can do to hasten the day is to become missionaries of the Word and carry it to anyone who will sit still long enough to hear it. Jesus told us to “resist not evil” and I believe it’s because that is His job and we are incapable of defeating it - we tend to give the Evil One more openings to leverage and cause us even more misery. Before He returns, the world will become a cesspool that will make what we have today seem like the good old days. I keep telling myself to stop trying to change the evil in the world and spend more time carrying the Word because that is the only thing I can do where I might be effective. I also believe that what will kick off the event is when He has deemed that the Word has been made available to a certain number of people so all who are of a certain age will have had the chance to make the decision between salvation and damnation. We can deal with the reality of the world because we trust in Him and he is good and faithful and will not change. God Blesses us each and every day if we only take the time to be still and know that He is God and what He has assumed responsibility for cannot be changed by our efforts to defeat that which cannot be defeated by mortal men. I know this instinctively, but I still find myself getting angry and demoralized each and every day that I think about the way evil is running the show - for now...
God helps those who help themselves. I would love for Him to intervene, but if he leaves us to our own devices, we are left with the choice to continue to play the game and lose or find a strategy to win. You are able to see that things look bleak. Don’t throw up your hands and hope for a miracle, do something. Perhaps.
Before you slander the Pope for something he allegedly said, you need to read what he actually said and not what the headlines are trying to distort. Contrary to what you may read in the media, please notice, nowhere does he even suggest - much less teach - that avowed atheists are saved. Instead, what he actually says is so obviously true and open to a perfectly fair and benign reading:
1. We shouldn't be so critical of outsiders that we don't allow ourselves to see or acknowledge whatever good they do, or truth they affirm (even atheists).
2. Christ didn't die to save only catholics/christians, but everybody (even atheists). He didn't say they were saved-- only that Christ died to save them.
3. Since all are redeemed by Christ - at least potentially - we should be looking for ways to build bridges with them in order to actualize that redemptive potential, by showing them that whatever truth and goodness they embrace comes from - and leads to - Christ.
“When will we realize that ONLY GOD is in charge.”
He might be but we still have to do our part and we haven’t. We allowed Him to be kicked out of our schools, our organizations, our government and even our homes.
In the New Testament we are told, not only to wait for the Day of the Lord, but to "hasten" it-- help it come faster. How do we do that? By fasting, prayer and living lives of holiness before our God.
If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - 2 Chronicles 7:14
The United State of America ≠ the people of God.
......Perhaps, praying for the second coming is too self-serving.
No way. Don’t be hard on yourself - you are right about expecting Him, wishing you could be with Him sooner rather than later, you want to be surrounded by His goodness and glory and not this evil in the earth. I feel the same but we both know it’s His timing and we both know His Timing is best but that still doesn’t rule out ‘our hurry up’ feeling. We don’t have to pray for it - just tell God you are so happy He is coming soon - the sooner the better! He’s your Father - so speak to Him like He is.
Almost like a kid waiting until his/her father comes home from work, they know the time is near for his arrival while checking the driveway or for the sound of his car coming up the road for them to run and yell out ‘daddy’s home’!! Our Father in Heaven wants to see His children with the same excitement and anticipation and you have it.
Meanwhile, we have work to do to bring Him others that don’t know HIM and they too can have the same excitement with their personal relationship with Him, also. Imagine how they will feel when they find out how over the top good God is and they only wished they knew Him sooner! Our Father gives us the sense of security we are longing for and HE ALONE is the only ONE that can offer it. This world has nothing to offer.
Here’s a song you WILL like. While we wait, you can imagine what you will do when you see Him. I already have my imagination of what I will do - it has added to my already Maranatha!’
Michael has yet to literally toss the devil out of heaven, however, the spirit of lawlessness is rampant all around this globe. Christ said 'deception' was the sign of His Return. Do you know what that 'deception' is? The deception is said to afflict all but the elect. And the tribulation is not about wars and rumors of wars, but a fake peace done by a fake peacemaker.
It'll be a pain-in-the-ass, but we'll do it!
I'll be over here, on the middle of Florida, reloading! ...................................................................................................... FRegards
