Pope Francis will welcome thousands of Harley-Davidson bikers to the Vatican and give them a 'Blessing of the Motorbikes'.
Around 100,000 Harley-Davidson owners will descend on Rome next month to celebrate the motorcycle's 110th anniversary.
The highlight of the four-day meeting will be the blessing by Pope Francis in St Peter's Square on 16 June.
Space for 1,400 bikes will be set aside in the pedestrian piazza. Other bikers are to attend on foot after parking elsewhere.
The entire length of Via Della Conciliazione, leading from St Peter's Basilica to the River Tiber will be turned into a giant Harley-Davidson bike park.
In case you plan to attend, there is a Harley Davidson representative in Rome.

I love it! And I love Francis!
I think this is something the Pope could have foregone.
In September 2010, Pope Benedict was presented, by Gabriele Del Torchio, the CEO of Ducati , with two brand new Ducati Multistrada 1200 motorcycles, both in the papal colors (yellow and white).
Now, I can't envision Pope Emeritus Benedict riding a bike but ... Pope Francis ... well, this is one of those times when I wish I had Photoshop : - )
I’ll bet there is.
Here comes everybody!
It’d be great to have a duck in Italy but a XR1200 would be more fun...
I have been to a number of Bike Blessings, and wear the same patch as the gentleman pictured (Top Rocker Only..was an officer in the Boston Chapter years ago).
But I’ve never been blessed by a POPE! :-)
You don’t need the Pope’s blessing if you ride a Moto Guzzi.
At the local no kill cat/kitten shelter, next door is a restraunt with a bar and often during the warmer weather months the folks who drive the Harley’s show up. Many of them are a work of art. :) =^..^=
God Bless Pope Francis and the Harley fans. :)
The Italian police ride Guzzi ,, I’m guessing that’s what you’re inferring...
Speaking of Pope he took on Mafia
Yeah he went Joe Pesci style on the Mafia
It just doesn’t get better than riding a Guzzi.
