Christs peace permeates, encloses,
Covers her in the balming Shadow;
In divine Presence she rests.
Opinions cease, anxiety vanishes, noises suppressed.
Lean on the Lords bosom;
Trace His footsteps which lead you to safe haven,
Like hardships of life scarred on sand
Being smoothed over by Grace-ous oceantide.
So judge not yourself except in the intensity of desire
To never doubt on His immense affection,
Witnessed profoundly by the Spirit.
Your thought, your inspiration, your will, your goodness,
All come from within and without,
Could you find cause for anything but humble?
Seize every opportunity to be silent
With Him on high mountain
Or deep in thoughtful prayers in the Garden,
In serene intimacy,
Humanly blessed and divinely loved
Are all thoughts and memories,
The inner stillness, air fragrant.
Try again and again, forever patient.
Perfection does not come from essence
But essence crystallized and purified with willful heart:
Ability is measured by nobility
Of a soul which loves her Lord.
So be happy to suffer to retain the perpetual smile
For His Kindness has gone before you in His initiation rite
By His Blood.
Beautiful and inspiring. Thanks so much for sharing.
After a time of nonchalant commitment to my faith, I’m seeking to renew and strengthen it. Distractions always get in the way.
Your poem was a great way to start the day and get me to focus on what’s really important.
I am glad you like it. I knew I posted for someone who needed it.
