Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Psalm 120

A Song of Ascents

1. In my distress I cried to the LORD,
And He heard me.
2. Deliver my soul, O LORD, from lying lips
And from a deceitful tongue.

3. What shall be given to you,
Or what shall be done to you,
You false tongue?
4. Sharp arrows of the warrior,
With coals of the broom tree!

5. Woe is me, that I dwell in Meshech,
That I dwell among the tents of Kedar!
6. My soul has dwelt too long
With one who hates peace.
7. I am for peace;
But when I speak, they are for war.

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Excellent is Your Name Over All The Earth!
We Come into Your Presence With Praise and Thanksgiving.
For You Alone Are Worthy,
You Alone Are Are LORD,
You Alone Are The Most High,
You Alone Are The One True God of Abraham!
Praise You, Lord!
How good it is to sing praises to You;
For You Are Gracious,
And a song of praise is fitting.

Out of the Depths of Despair I Cry To You, Dear Father,
For You See All, and Hear All!
You Alone Are Worthy To Be Praised And Worshiped,
For You Alone Are The One True God!
You Are Omniscient,
and You Always Know The Truth,
Because You ARE The Truth!
Deliver Your Children From The Lies and Slander
Perpetrated by the Media,
and by The enemy of Our Souls.
For What Shield have we against a Lying Tongue?
What Defense have we against an ugly rumor,
a false witness,
a bad report,
or a mean gossip,
a confidence betrayed?
These are darts and arrows that sting and burn more than any earthly physical weapons,
and often come from those we trust the most.
Dear Father, we Run To You, to Your Everlasting Arms,
Fleeing this vicious world of Lies, Calumny and Slander,
To The Comfort of Your Gracious and Perfect Light of Truth,
That Shines So Brightly
that All Lies are Shriveled Up in the Glare of Your
Infinite Justice and Righteousness.
Like The Fires of the Broom Tree (Juniper),
which burn brighter, longer, and hotter than any other wood,
Obliterate with Fire the Lies of the enemy, we Pray.

We Plead With You,
That Our Leaders will be Led by Your Holy Spirit
with regards to Our Own Country's Policies Towards Jerusalem,
Or That You Will Remove Them.
We Plead That Your Will be Done,
On Earth, As It Is In Heaven

Father, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According To Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For Our Brethren,
Christians and Jews,
Who Are, even in this Day and Age,
Being persecuted for their Belief in You.
We Pray For the Swift and Sure Coming Of Messiah
To Make All Things Right.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

A Song of Ascents.

The Temple of Solomon Had 15 Steps leading Up to the Sanctuary. It Is Thought that The Priests Would Sing Each of The 15 "Songs of Ascents" one at a time, as they ascended the steps. These are also called the "Psalms of Degrees".

Note 1. Regular readers may have noticed that there was no roundup on Friday. I am dealing with the illness of a close family member and posting will be spotty right now. Some older articles will likely show up on the site.

Hopefully that will change soon, but for the moment I am making multiple trips to the hospital a day and balancing everything isn't easy.

Note 2. The site is under sustained spam attack. Today I came on to find over 700 comments in moderation, 99 percent of them spam. The volume has gotten so bad that I'm losing legitimate comments in it.
