Its St. Sebastians Angels all over again. But much worse. In Rome! A gay hookup site specifically tailored for priests and seminarians in ROME! Good Heavens what is to become of us?:
It is not easy to talk about some things, but Pope Francis statement of a gay lobby in the Catholic Church draws waves. As the Catholic writer, Vittorio Messori made known, there is a page on the Internet called Venerabilis which is run by a fraternity of Homo-Sensitive Roman Catholic Priests.

If we could just get the NSA to do the Vatican a favor and sent them the user list.
Thankfully, this too shall pass.
Who invented the word “aberrosexual” and how is it different from “homosexual”? On the next thought, perhaps I don’t want to know.
From a related thread:
1 Corinthians 5 shows that the sexual acts prohibited in Leviticus are to be resolved in NT times by expelling sexual offenders from the congregation (as opposed to putting them to death). So we’re seeing gay “christian” clergy who evidently haven’t read the Holy Bible.
I think that the “Do not be deceived” warning of 1 Cor. 6:9 is key to understanding major faith problems with same-sex sexual relationships.
Given what has happened in the Church during the last fifty years, I can only conclude that the Church has many faithless clergy. It happens when the priesthood becomes no more than a career path, or when priests take the faith as lightly as so many of us do, as a yoke to be set aside because we take every burden as intolerable.
Reading the comments on that website, they appear to speak in code. They write “looking for a true friend to discuss ideas.” But then the code kind of falls apart when they say “I’m a 24 year old boy looking for Priest.” or “I prefer older man.” etc.
To a certain extent I guess they’re ashamed enough that they still speak in this code, though it’s pretty obvious it’s a homo hookup site.
One of them thought that if Rome got rid of all the queers, there wouldn’t be anyone left to become a priest!
Back in the late 1970s I was attending a church where a female congregant had been disciplined/temporarily expelled for a questionable relationship with a male congregant (I don't know if it was adultery or something like that). This was the only time I'd heard of a church congregation imposing discipline on a member for his/her behavior. These days it seems people don't want to get involved.
The Catholic Church has to purge itself of these so-called priests.
I don’t know if it’s true or not but I’ve read that a lot of those in seminaries in California are gay when they get there.
I’m shocked, sir, shocked! Homosexual priests seeking partners within the very shadow of the Vatican? Just wait til the Pope finds out or some of the bishops!
This is why we have Pope Francis and why he chose the name he did. In his youth he asked a young woman to marry him and she didn’t accept his proposal, Thank God.
I hope they all get a house cleaning.
thus, we can't question behavior, or someones bad language, or their dress, or their music, or their addictions.....
"diversity" is our friend...
Real life equivalent of the “Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence”.
For the time is, that judgment should begin at the house of God. And if first at us, what shall be the end of them that believe not the gospel of God?
Our Pope should have 24 hour 7 days a week fasting and prayers in the Vatican. Every hour on the hour by different individuals continually. This is so powerful it would change these sinning individuals on spot or drive them out of our Church.
27But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him up; and he arose. 28And when he was come into the house, his disciples asked him privately, Why could not we cast him out? 29And he said to them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
Philippians 4 :
6 Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.< p> We also need to pray and fast a little.
“thus, we can’t question behavior, or someones bad language, or their dress, or their music, or their addictions.....”
Or, “Hey pal, what’s WITH all those freaky TATTOOS”???;)
(OTOH, some of those tattooed types look like they break legs for a living, so maybe it’s better to keep quiet;)

How in the hell can someoen swear an oath to God, and then turn right aroudn and violate one of them ost serious of sins- one which God Hismelf calls an ABOMINATION? There is no strogner word to describe the level of vioaltion than the word abomination- God destroyed entire cities because of their abominations- How is it that priests think they can get away with such a serious violation? How can they claim to be God’s spokesmen while at the same time REFUSING to listen to God themselves?
Maybe they saw ‘Mad Max, The Road Warrior’?
“Gayboy beserkers, to the left. The gate! Smegma crazies, to the gate!”
Isn't that redundant?
Nope...But I am implying there seems to be a lot of queers in positions of authority, ie. cardinals and bishops and maybe even a few modern popes...
While your pope politely mentions a queer agenda somewhere at the Vatican, he seems to be very careful of raising too big of a stink...He may know that it's a lot larger than he alone can handle...
“...He may know that it’s a lot larger than he alone can handle... “
We know God can handle it. We know the end of the story so to speak.
Is that a quote from Peter Damian?
The whole deal is the natural progression of putting the priests in an unnatural situation. Even though Paul opined that celibacy was desirable, he made it clear that it was his own opinion and not part of the divine message being fed to him by the Holy Spirit.
Vlad, I don’t know what to think about how much of this is true... If any. If any is true, I hope it doesn’t pass away before it is rooted out and destroyed. If it is not destroyed by the pope, it is a continuing black mark.
I don’t know how much of it is true either. What I do know is that the Church will go on no matter what. Satan can’t destroy it.
The immorality of many of the Roman clergy and the tolerance of it...is it any different from what Martin Luther saw?
I can only imagine what an albatross these clergymen are around the neck of the collective Catholic church and thus makes me wonder why the laity are not marching with torches and pitch forks so to speak.
Thomas Jefferson did that once, as I remember. For different reasons, of course.
And why would a homosexual become a priest? For the same reason he would become a summer camp activities director, a wrestling coach, a youth minister, a Boy Scout leader, a juvenile drug counselor, a sports league coordinator: because he's attracted to boys, and that's where he can find them.
Like the old story about Willie Sutton:
Reporter: "Willie, why do you rob banks?"This article from Free Dominion (Canadian ally of Free Republic) gives a research-based perspective (Link) that should interest you.
Sutton: "Because that's where the money is."
Homosexual men...are attracted to homosexual men, not boys. Pedophile, homosexual men are attracted to boys. I sure hope we’re not concluding that all homosexual men are pedophiles.
“I assume you’re familiar with Damian’s Book of Gomorrah?”
Most likely much more so than you.
“The immorality of many of the Roman clergy and the tolerance of it...is it any different from what Martin Luther saw?”
Yes. Luther complained mostly about the clergy’s greed - which would later be shown to be hypocritical considering his own choices in life as a Protestant. If you read the 95 Theses you’ll see that Luther did not assume that homosexuality was a major problem in the clergy. Peter’s complaint was entirely different. Apparently you’re not as familiar with either set of complaints as you might think.
“I can only imagine what an albatross these clergymen are around the neck of the collective Catholic church and thus makes me wonder why the laity are not marching with torches and pitch forks so to speak.”
Because they have no one to march against - these people have not been identified and no one even knows is this is real at this point. Also, why don’t you ask why conservatives aren’t marching on Washington DC right now. Where’s the outrage? Where are those pitchforks while our country is turned into a banana republic?
“I dont know how much of it is true either. What I do know is that the Church will go on no matter what. Satan cant destroy it.”
The Church, sure. But Christ Himself removes “lamp stands” from churches in Revelation.
The Catholic Church is THE Church. Christ isn’t ever removing anything from the Catholic Church because it is His bride.
Well...are you implying that all the churches in Revelation are not Catholic Churches? :-)
Christ will keep His Church pure if it means taking away the lamp stand of Rome, as surely as He took it from other Churches. His Gathering will continue according to plan.
“Well...are you implying that all the churches in Revelation are not Catholic Churches?”
The churches in Revelation are symbolic.
“Christ will keep His Church pure if it means taking away the lamp stand of Rome, as surely as He took it from other Churches.”
The Catholic Church is pure - the people in it not necessarily so.
“His Gathering will continue according to plan.”
And as always the Catholic Church is at the center of that plan. Hence, the very first paragraph of the Catechism:
1 God, infinitely perfect and blessed in himself, in a plan of sheer goodness freely created man to make him share in his own blessed life. For this reason, at every time and in every place, God draws close to man. He calls man to seek him, to know him, to love him with all his strength. He calls together all men, scattered and divided by sin, into the unity of his family, the Church. To accomplish this, when the fullness of time had come, God sent his Son as Redeemer and Savior. In his Son and through him, he invites men to become, in the Holy Spirit, his adopted children and thus heirs of his blessed life.
From Catholic Historian Ludwig von Pastor:
“But it is a mistake to suppose that the corruption of the clergy was worse in Rome than elsewhere; there is documentary evidence of the immorality of the priests in almost every town in the Italian peninsula. In many placesVenice, for instancematters were far worse than in Rome. No wonder, as contemporary writers sadly testify, the influence of the clergy had declined, and that in many places hardly any respect was shown for the priesthood. Their immorality was so gross that suggestions in favor of allowing priests to marry began to be heard... The three essential vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience were in some convents almost entirely disregarded.”
What does Luther's hypocrisy or whether conservatives march have to do the point at hand? Nothing. And the question goes unanswered:
“The immorality of many of the Roman clergy and the tolerance of it...is it any different from what Martin Luther saw?
“The churches in Revelation are symbolic.”
Darn strange God used real cities to be symbolic... but then maybe my geography is not what it used to be. What do the Churches symbolize? What do the lamp stands symbolize? Are the complaints of Christ and the compliments of Christ also symbolic? How do you know what the answer to these questions is...?
“The Catholic Church is pure - the people in it not necessarily so.”
How does that work? Without a single person, how is that a “gathering”? If you strip out all the people who make up the Church and the Bride of Christ, what is left? A gathering without people? A wedding gown with no one in it? How do you know the Church doesn’t include people? Without people, what is the Church?
“Hence, the very first paragraph of the Catechism:”
All well and good, but not inspired Scripture.
The TRUE church, the body of believers, is the Bride of Christ, not the organization filled with rampant immorality within its clergy.
How can this be?
Haven't we been assured that the immorality within the priesthood has been addressed and things are changing?
Tell me it ain't so?
