i agree and do pray for my enemies. even the president. but, there are two problems with this excerpt(?) of the Pope’s homily. (1) he is apparently equating “impoverishment” with money. love is much more than that, in fact money, itself, is probably the least part of it. (2) he doesn’t provide God’s definition of love. that one is critical. from his vantage, you have got to force yourself to be very careful. you just cannot make statements about love without always including that complete definition.
