More about the Tree of Knowledge — since Adam and Eve failed God’s test of obedience and ate of its fruit.

The Cross is the true Tree of Life, and the Eucharist the true fruit that brings eternal life. At a youth conference last year, I heard a priest say that the Passion, Death, and Resurrection of Christ is the central event of the universe. Everything else is meaningful as it relates to that.

For example, he said, when we use the image of Christ as the sun, it’s not that He is like the natural sun, but that the sun is a little like Him. It’s not that the Eucharist is like natural bread, but that bread has a few of the characteristics of the Eucharist.

Revelation 2:7 Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who is victorious, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

Revelation 22:14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city.

Revelation 22:19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.
