I apologize in advance for the "vanity" thread. I am not a "spambot" or a "zot." I am a freeper of over twelve years, who is embarrassed and ashamed to use my regular log in for this post.
For those of you who are praying people, please include me in your regular prayers: our apartment landlord has told us that we have to vacate the premises within the next six weeks because, apparently, "we are the problem" as a white, heterosexual thirty-something couple who doesn't drink, doesn't smoke, and doesn't do drugs. We don't have company over, or play loud music or have parties. But all the while, our "ghetto" neighbors (the nicest way I know to put it) are becoming more annoying, threatening and loud with us.
My wife and I spent all week looking for houses, but could not find anything nice in our price range. And this morning, I went to the doctor because of all my stress and anxiety over it all, and they gave me a prescription to help cope with my nerves. Very worried and scared now. Don't want to have to defend myself in a physical confrontation with the ghetto neighbors. And I don't want to be homeless. Exhausted from it all, and don't know what will happen next. Please pray for us. Thank you, and sorry again for the vanity post.
Prayers for a better neighborhood for y’all. Leave the ghetto dwellers to stew in their own juice....most likely at taxpayers’ expense.
Prayers to you.
A well established freeper needs advice but would like to remain anonomous from this problem.
The mods know who it is.
Maybe. But this does not sound like an embarrassing problem. Perhaps I'm an exception, but, if I were being kicked out of my abode for the stated reason, I wouldn't seek anonymity.
How is this embarrassing? Poster, please let me know,
God bless you and your other half....hope things work out....infact, I’m positive something will....
To them it is embarrassing. Wishing them the best.
Well, “them” hasn’t answered me.
They probably will.
I dunno. If I lived in an apartment with problem renters all around me, and had complaints with all of them. I would expect the landlord to act.
Apparently, the landlord likes his section 8 housing payments more than a lone renter that pays his rent on time.
I would leave me in a quandry as well.
He did say he was not using his regular log in.
Reading is fundamental.
Contact your local Salvation Army. They offer housing assistance to those in dire straights, can refer you to affordable short term housing if you can afford it, and provide other assistance.
That said, suggest moving to another apartment complex, if a good home is not to be found at this time.
may our Lord be you, comfort you, guide you and your wife in this time of personal trial. God bless you.
No embarrassment needed! Praying that the Lord will provide a new and better home for you, and for His comfort and peace.
So move. For Christians, this world is bus stop. Let God lead you to another bench. Remember that the place he wants you is not likely your first choice.
DONE! May God show you mercy and favor.
Sure. Send me your bank account and routing numbers, and I’ll get it right there. I’m a sucker for desperate prayer requests to sponge up a few bucks because someone’s being evicted.
If the mods can confirm this is a FReeper and they are allowing it, then that’s all I need. However, I am in agreement with you that this scenario is nothing anyone would be ashamed about. And in a sense, it rings as racism. Just switch the husband and wife to African-American -— leading a quiet, decent life, but all the white neighbors want them gone.
That’s what I’m seeing here.
sorry, Lord be with you, not “be you.” this too shall pass.
Well, the good news is you have 6 weeks to find a place, which is plenty of time.
Look at this as a positive. You are not happy with the neighborhood, they aren’t happy with you- sounds to me like moving will be a good thing. You may have to put up with less house, but likely will be more comfortable in it. Prayers to you, I know this is stressful but likely a good thing.
