That, coupled with the bible makes it pretty unreal...

Only if you ignore John 6 and 1 Corinthians 11, for starters. Your oft demonstrated modus operandi is to ignore most of Scripture.

No use trying to pretend its just anti-Catholic propaganda.

Not unless some try to pretend that this aberration is typical of the Catholic priesthood or is representative of Catholicism. As a Catholic I am sadly well aware that these perverts have infected the Catholic priesthood as they have many other institutions in society. Much of the problems that have arisen in the Catholic Church over the last 40 years can be traced to their presence and their attempts to change the faith. I, for one, would like to see this brought to the light of day so that they can be excised from the Church.

I’m a Catholic and think priests should be allowed to marry women.

Despite the teaching of Christ and St. Paul?

By the way, 21 of the 22 Churches sui juris which comprise the Catholic Church, ordain, as a norm, married men. However, none of those Churches allows a Priest to marry after ordination. Just like the Greek Orthodox Church.

As opposed to Catholics and the Catholic church which ignores 1 Corinthians 5?

Every time I post it the silence from the Catholics is deafening.

It will be interesting to see how that whole situation plays out. Will they expel or embrace?

You know what? This is absolutely upsetting and horrifying for many of us Catholics here. It would be nice if the Protestants here would take the high road ...just for once... out of respect for what many of us feel right now.

Feelings? Get over it.

I'm going to presume that most Catholic posters here are adults. There's no reason to treat you like children whose feelings are hurt. Man up. It's time you guys faced the reality of what's going on in your church.

Truth hurts sometimes.

This is not the time for Bible back and forth and proving who has the truth and who does not.

And don’t give me the “Truth hurt sometimes”. I’m one of the few folks who have been taking our hierarchy to task lately...and you know it.

This isn’t about treating others like children. It’s about treating them with respect. Is that possible?

It's all right. We've been around for thousands of years. We will survive this.

[16] Simon Peter answered and said: Thou art Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answering, said to him: Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-Jona: because flesh and blood hath not revealed it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. [18] And I say to thee: That thou art Peter; and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. [19] And I will give to thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven. And whatsoever thou shalt bind upon earth, it shall be bound also in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose upon earth, it shall be loosed also in heaven. [20] Then he commanded his disciples, that they should tell no one that he was Jesus the Christ.

We live and suffer with what has occurred along with hundreds of millions of Catholics.

Being an adult also means having the maturity and insight not to grind filth into another’s face and pretend it is for one’s own good.

The chortling comes through loud and clear to everyone. So does smug self-righteousness.

Sometimes the truth hurts.

Quite the contrary.

Every time I post it the silence from the Catholics is deafening.

It wasn't deafening on

June 17, 2013

or

June 16, 2013

You might want to amend your comment and review the 8th Commandment while you're at it. However, you and I both know that you think you're above that as a cull of your posts proves.

Benedict made a number of predictions that were veiled and are now understood. We will become smaller, purer, more endangered and as supernatural as has always been from the beginning.

The left satan KGB and a host of wreckers have gotten their time. Now comes Calvary, the cross as promised and the resurrection. Maybe not in our time will we see this, but in time.

Indeed these scandals put a sincere Catholic in a difficult position. He can't know just how deep and extensive the rot goes but surely he can't be on the Titanic. If so baling water and tossing cargo overboard won't help,

Or perhaps he is in the same position as ordinary Jews were when Jesus said the kingdom was being taken away from that ancient nation and being given to a nation producing the fruits of the kingdom.

Of course, there are always the hyper partisans who just reflexively attack anything with little thought. There are some on this forum who have, in the past, absolutely refused to admit there is any “gay problem” in the Catholic clergy. Maybe now that the Pope himself has acknowledged the issue, they will have to admit it. I think that’s about the only think capable of swaying some folks’ opinion.

May I ask what you consider to be "the high road"?

There is talk of a “gay lobby” , and it is true, it exists. We have to see what we can do about it.”

Well there is a bold statement if I ever heard one ............sarcasm

Is this going to be like the abortion issue where 40 years on they are still talking about eventually getting around to denying communion to pro-abort politicians?

No, I think this Pope is actually going to take on the gay lobby at the Vatican.

Prediction?

The entire Curia is replaced en masse, soon.

What will happen outside Rome is anybody’s guess.
