I’m using real world right now examples. You are making choices I assume.
What do they mean in terms of free will. Here and now.
What’s going on in your decisions, is it old man, new man.. ?
Can you apply your theology?
I defined free will a little back. Obviously I disagree that this free will is an illusion. I used your description as both the definition and the human experience.
“Im using real world right now examples.”
To be honest, you’re just fighting strawmen, and basing conclusions on arguments you have yet to make. I think I’ll settle it with that then, unless you intend to start replying to my arguments.
Strawmen how?
I have made the argument that man is capable of free will choices. You and I are illustrating that right now. Aren’t we?
If Calvinism is only an intellectual construct then it fails in application. Is this what we are seeing here? If not, why not?
I am replying to your arguments. If you wish give me one and I’ll reply specifically and only to it in hopes of clarity.
Or not. Your choice.
How many times is the phrase 'foundation of the world' used within New Testament Scripture? From the Companion Bible, Appendix 146 instructs there are two words translated "foundation" in the New Testament: (1) themelios, and (3) katabole. (long e).
The Noun, themelios, occurs in Luke 6:48:49; 14:20; Acts 16:26. Romans 15:20. ICorinthians 3:10,11,12. Ephesians 2:20 ITimothy 6:19. IITimothy 2:19. Hebrews 6:1.; 11:10. Revelation 21:14,19. It is never used of the world (kosmos) or earth.
The corresponding Verb (themelioo, long o) occurs in Matthew 7:25. Luke 6:48. Ephesians 3:17 Colossians 1:23. Hebrews 1:10 and IPeter 5:10 The verb is only once used of the earth in Hebrews 1:10.
themelios/themelioo are proper and regular terms for the English words "to found" and "foundation".
However, the Noun, katabole and corresponding /verb kataballo mean something entirely different, the correct meaning is casting down or overthrow.
The Noun katabole occurs in Matthew 13:35; 25:34. Luke 11:50. John 17:24. Ephesians 1:4. Hebrews 4:3; 9:26; 11:17. IPeter 1:20 Revelation 13:8; 17:8. The corresponding verb kataballo occurs in IICorinthians 4:9. Hebrews 6:1 and Revelation 12:10.
In remembrance of IITimothy 3:16 of all scripture ... Genesis 1:2 describes this katabole and again by Peter in IIPeter 3:5-6.. Isaiah 45:18 the earth was not created in tohu but became so ...
Lucifer rebelled as described in Isaiah 14:12- and Ezekiel 28:12- Revelation 12:4 that rebellion is where the elect were chosen. These souls loved God and stood against the devil in that world that WAS, Peter's words, not mine.
This is why Christ said many are called but few are chosen. And Ecclesiastes 1:9 The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
10 Is there any thing whereof it may be said, 'See, this is new?' it hath been already of *old* time, which was before us.
11 There is no remembrance of former things; neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.
All souls/spirit intellect were created at the same time and that was in that world that WAS which was destroyed when the devil rebelled and was sentenced to death. Hebrews 2:14.
All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
.... How many times did Christ use the Noun/Verb katabole?
