Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, Jul 30, 2013 / 02:54 pm (CNA).- Nathan de Brito brought Pope Francis to tears during one of his motorcades through the streets of Rio de Janeiro on Friday, when he broke past barriers to deliver an important message to the Pontiff.

“Your Holiness, I want to be a priest of Christ, a representative of Christ,” de Brito whispered in the ear of Pope Francis July 26, after jumping hurdles and making his way to the Popemobile in his Brazilian national soccer team jersey.

“I am going to pray for you, but I ask you to pray for me,” Pope Francis responded, moved to tears and embracing him.

“As of today, your vocation is set.”

Onlookers noticed that de Brito did not want to leave the Holy Father. It was only after several attempts that the Pope's security entourage was able to take him off the Popemobile.

Once on the street, Nathan walked along side the Popemobile, waving to the Pontiff and blowing him kisses. One of the security guards stopped to console the boy before bringing him back to his waiting family.

Matthew 10:
13 And they brought to him young children, that he might touch them. And the disciples rebuked them that brought them. 14 Whom when Jesus saw, he was much displeased, and saith to them: Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not; for of such is the kingdom of God. 15 Amen I say to you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, shall not enter into it.

+Francis, of course, is not Jesus. He is Jesus' representative, in a particularly visible way.

As for the child:

“Your Holiness, I want to be a priest of Christ, a representative of Christ,”

While we are all called, in one way or another, to be a "representative of Christ", some are called to be such in particularly visible ways. Has this child a vocation to the ordained priesthood? Time will tell; may he have the grace to listen carefully to God's call. May God call many holy young men to the priesthood; may He give them the grace to answer that call.

This idiot of a Pope finds nothing wrong about homosexuality?

Must have missed that in the above article. Have a source for your question.

It's amazing to me that FReepers are very skeptical of the media at all times . . . except when they can take a cheap shot at the Pope. Then their credulity exceeds all bounds.

Let me explain it to you just in case you really don't know: the Pope restated Catholic doctrine correctly. Homosexual persons are to be treated with respect and dignity. When they are seeking Christ and holiness, they are to be helped and encouraged, not judged. But they must "go and sin no more," because homosexual conduct as opposed to being a person with a homosexual tendency remains a sin. And their tendency to sin (concupiscence, which we all have for one sin or another) remains (like any other sin) objectively disordered.

.... and for your penance, you are to go to other threads and correct other FReepers who do not understand this.

In Nomine Domini. Amen.

You are correct and the clarification is helpful but the fact remains...the progressives and homosex endorsers have their flawed but self-serving take on the subject and are running with it — claiming it as absolution and even endorsement — undeservedly giving Francis MFP (Most Favored Pope) status among these unrepentant sinners. Satan can use this situation to do great damage to the Church as was done with the pederasty scandals. Already stories abound about active homosexuals being allowed back into the priesthood. It is essential that the pope in the future carefully temper remarks when speaking to general audiences or refuse q&A sessions altogether. We don’t need the problems.

I think more or less the Pope answered this question while flying back from Brazil and having done this very big trip, he was tired and he should have rested and then and only then take on once rested this loaded question.

If the media were even moderately neutral, that would be true.

Unfortunately, the media hates the Church and will do anything (absolutely anything) to place Her in a bad light and, if possible, destroy Her.

They will twist and misstate whatever the Pope says. If necessary, they will make stuff up. Pope Francis cannot speak carefully enough to avoid this, no matter what he says and no matter how rested he is.

This makes me think about Therese asking Pope Leo XIII to speak to her Bishop so she could enter the Carmel at 15, which she did anyway.

The last bulwark is The Bible. There's no getting around it no matter how much the homosexuals want to spin it. Homosexuality is an abomination to God and nature. Are these Sodomites so arrogant to think they can change the word of God?

Don't forget the Didache

Thou shalt not commit murder, thou shalt not commit adultery, thou shalt not commit paederasty, thou shalt not commit fornication, thou shalt not steal, thou shalt not practise magic, thou shalt not practise witchcraft, thou shalt not murder a child by abortion nor kill that which is begotten. Thou shalt not covet the things of thy neighbour,
ref

That is very specific.
