August 2, 2013 By Frank Weathers

The Gray Lady wants to test your knowledge of the Pope’s unique voice. So they put together a little multiple choice quiz asking readers to differentiate between the sayings of Popes John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis.

Give it a try below.

How Recent Popes Differ on Key Issues. Choose the Pope who said each quote on seven critical issues.

TOPICS: Catholic; History
KEYWORDS: benedictxvi; catholic; francis; johnpaulii

Did anyone actually see any differences between the comments as the NYTimes says exists? I saw none of any note.

I noticed the same thing: three Popes all saying the same stuff. Is there somebody at the NYT who is subtly subverting the approved media narrative?

Makes one wonder about the motives here.

I didn’t do that well on the test, though, but finally figured it out with the choice of vocabulary and writing style.

It appears that choice of vocabulary and writing style are the only differences.

I did very badly on that quiz, which just goes to prove that our Popes speak with one voice.
