Fatima Center Invites Roberto Fiore to Fatima Conference
The Fatima Center is hosting a conference in September. Among those advertised to attend are Roberto Fiore, John McManus, Dr. Ron Paul, Dr. Peter Chojnowski, Christopher Ferrara, Michael Matt and John Vennari.
Below is a speech given by Fiore in Budapest, October 23, 2008. Fiore is a Right-wing extremist and Society of Saint Pius X (SSPX) adherent. Fiore's speech follows the usual Perennialist/Fascist model. He begins by bemoaning the moral and economic decline in Europe. He then provides a nominal disparaging comment against Communism only then to direct the fury of his attack on Capitalism and the Jews. Fiore declared the people who have caused the economic crisis are the same as those "who put Christ on the cross." Fiore then states that the people of Budapest and Italy are rising up to fight them. “(Fr. Gruner Hosts) Italian Antisemite”
Name calling without argument.
“Below is a speech given by Fiore in ... 2008 ...”
“Five years ago; is there nothing more recent?
“Fiore is a Right-wing extremist ...”
Nothing presented supports that statement.
“Fiore’s speech follows the usual Perennialist/Fascist model.”
What? The link you provide to explain this term returns “Sorry, the page does not exist.”
“... the fury of his attack on Capitalism and the Jews.”
No, his criticism is on corruption and immorality of a ruling elite.
” ... as those ‘who put Christ on the cross.’ “
Refers to a ruling elite, who would put to death an innocent man.
You are not going to make any friends here by referring to FreeRepublic as “New Republic.”
And when you’re posting from your own blog, post the full blog entry so that folks here don’t need to give your blog a hit just to read your article.
Otherwise the blog pimp police will deal with you.
Gruner and his nutcase association is to the right of SSPX, so why be surprised.
Those of us who belong to prayer groups associated with Fatima have been warned about him for at least 20 years, but he still pops up. I’m not even sure he’s still in the church...
Calls Upcoming Fatima Conference Anti-Semitic
|Remnant Press Release||POSTED: 8/23/13|
The Southern Poverty Law Center, in an article republished by the left-liberal Salon magazine, has issued another of its breathless alarms about radical Traditionalist Catholics. This one concerns an upcoming Fatima conference in Niagara Falls (September 8-13) featuring some 27 speakers, including Congressman Ron Paul, which will address, among other topics, the growing tyranny of the modern nation-state and the urgency of the Fatima message for both civic and Church leaders who are seeking peace and social order.
The screaming headline declares: Ron Paul to be keynote speaker at anti-Semitic conference. According to SPLC, the anti-Semitism is attributable to Ron Paul himselfan allegation based on old newsletters with which Paul was loosely associated many years ago whose content SPLC deems politically incorrect.
One radical traditionalist theme of the conference, quoted by the article, is a return to sanity in the government of the world and the Church, for the two cannot be separated.
Another day, another amusingly hysterical bulletin from SPLC, said Christopher A. Ferrara, one of the conference speakers. Ron Paul is not even Catholic, but rather is speaking on secular themes related to the current political and economic crisis. Not every speaker at this conference is my cup of tea, but that is whole point of the conference: to bring together people from Church and State, from all over the world, to discuss from different perspectives the moral, spiritual, political and economic crises threatening Western civilization.
Ferrara noted that the SPLC accuses the conference of being anti-Semitic because one of the speakers attended a different conference that included a speaker who was accused of being anti-Semitic. Guilt by association, twice removed? Based on double-hearsay accusations, not proof? Are they kidding? Are the organizers of Catholic conferences supposed to investigate every other conference attended by every invitee in his lifetime to see if any of those other conferences included people accused of, suspected of, savoring of, anti-Semitismwhatever that means? Please!
This latest cry of wolf is a perfect example of why SPLC has zero credibility, and why a condemnation by that far-Left group of loons has actually become a badge of honor among the growing number decent people and groups SPLC has attempted to smear, Ferrara concluded.
