The Christian Morals of the US Armed Forces (remembering it fondly)

After having the Declaration of Independence read to his troops, General George Washington issued the order, July 9, 1776:

"Commanding officers of each regiment are directed to procure Chaplains... - persons of good Characters and exemplary lives - to see that all inferior officers and soldiers pay them a suitable respect and attend carefully upon religious exercises.

The blessing and protection of Heaven are at all times necessary but especially so in times of public distress and danger -

The General hopes and trusts, that every officer and man, will endeavour so to live, and act, as becomes a Christian Soldier, defending the dearest Rights and Liberties of his country...

The peace and safety of his Country depends (under God) solely on the success of our arms."

On May 2, 1778, General George Washington issued the order to his troops at Valley Forge:

"The Commander-in-Chief directs that Divine service be performed every Sunday at 11 o'clock, in each Brigade which has a Chaplain.

Those Brigades which have none will attend the places of worship nearest to them. It is expected that officers of all ranks will, by their attendance, set an example for their men.

A look back at the beginning of this country and the Christian morals that were instilled in the US military. Now look for it only in movies, and tales of veterans who loved this Christian institution, "for it is no more than a dream remembered,......gone with the wind."

During my first week of basic training in the USAF in 1956 I had to attend a religious service of my choice and write to my parents.

Nobody in my flight thought it to be ridiculous.

Ditto.. 37 years ago this month I entered basic training at Lackland AFB. On Sundays we were encouraged to attend church. Somehow I’m not seeing how anyone was mentally, morally or socially damaged by it.

I suspect the time will come that attendance at Christian church services will be strongly discouraged in the military.

Now the military caters to sodomites and tries everything in their power not to offend them. Christians are persecuted in the US Armed Forces.

LOL, you are showing your age. I went to USAF basic training in 1967 and retired in 1987. I do not remember if we told to go to services, but most did. I think the Obamanites might have several things in mind, not least of which, is they are raising a military force, that will gladly and willfully use their hi tech weapons on American civilians, and enjoy it. They are right on schedule.

There won’t be Christian churches on the base — just a few dozen mosques.

I am proud that I served my country under the leadership of the last qualified CIC.

Ever heard of the guy who was in charge of the liberation of Western Europe from the Nazis?

Am I correct in assuming that was the bald headed golfer? I did ok in my 20 years, except for that nerd Jimmah in 76.

This little tract was widely circulated by moi and hundreds of others during the 70s as the Carter fiasco unwound into its well-deserved death spiral. As you read it, if you were an adult at that time, ask yourself what you were doing to halt the rot that has, with the exception of a short hiatus during the Reagan years -- advanced to the full blown cancer now consuming this country and, with it, the birthright of your children and grandchildren? It's not too late to move out of "Bystander" status but probably soon will be.

As Reagan once opined "If now us, who? If not now, WHEN?"

If so inclined, please share.

PRAYER FOR OUR COUNTRY

O my Jesus, You said, "verily I say to you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you."  Behold, in your name I humbly ask our Heavenly Father to protect every man, woman, and child in our great nation from those who want to delete your name from our society, i.e. on our money, in our courts, and in our schools.  Protect us from plans of destruction from which our enemies have plotted.

You, Heavenly Father, are the real foundation of our nation.  I thank you for making me a citizen of this land of freedom and unlimited opportunity...which are the results of its Christian base.

Please surround and protect us, and our military with Your love and mercy...in Jesus' name.

Amen

I was at the birthplace of liberty, Lexington and Concord, last weekend. By “the rude bridge that arched the flood” there is an obelisk erected in the 1800s commemorating “the first forcible Resistance to British aggression . On the opposite bank stood the American Militia, on this, the invading army..” etc.

Anyway, a gaggle of 'yout' (mixture of white and black, all dressed in "ghetto" style attire) were standing there at the same time as me. They read the inscription and one of them said, "yoooooo, agenda much? The guy who wrote this had an agenda, mahn!"

The park ranger on duty began talking to them about the American spirit, but they seemed to be of the opinion that the Brits couldn't be invading because, hey homie, America belonged to Britain. But overall they seemed pretty uninterested and wandered off in short order.

A sad commentary on the unpatriotic attitude of America's modern youth.

In many places today, the military is anti religious.

Many here think that the Military is the last back stop to full blown tyranny. In the end they will just follow orders.

“In the end they will just follow orders”

That’s all they do now. Leftist general officers follow the orders of the Marxist in chief. End of story. And
Pvt Bagel as Sec of Defense is as worthless as a warm bucket of spit. He’s almost as bad as the sodomite loving Gates.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

No one should be surprised. Why?

Answer: Nearly every teacher in this nation ( both public and private schools) was trained by Marxists in Marxist-run colleges of education.
