Religious Expert Suggests to Send the Russian Volunteer Corps to Syria

Moscow, September 9, Interfax - Mass attacks against Christian minority in Syria and desecration of shrines venerated all around the world puts on the agenda Russia's active participation in the conflict, religious expert and head of the Human Rights Center of the World Russian People's Council, Roman Silantyev said commenting terrorist capture of the Christian town Maaloula.

"I admit that Russian direct military participation in Syrian conflict is pointless, however what can prevent us from sending volunteers in the country? Orthodox volunteers could come and help Syrian Christians and Ramzan Kadyrov can help enlist Muslims who will protect mosques and mausoleums sacred for Muslims," Silantyev told Interax-Religion.

He reminded that Saudi terrorism ideologists promised to destroy sacred places of all religions in Syria. "Even if the situation develops negatively, we can save many people and shrines," the interviewee of the agency believes.

This June he met with leading Sunnite theologians in Damascus and they asked why only Wahabis come to make war from Russia.

The expert reminds that Russian citizens have rich experience in standing for justice outside their country - from the British-Boer war to helping Cuba and Yugoslavia.

"We shouln't think that our citizens can participate in military actions only inside our country, or otherwise they will shed blood for alien interests. Even in slandered Afghan war Soviet soldiers killed hundreds of thousands Islamists, protecting our southern borders from massive attack after USSR collapse and none of the soldiers who laid their life there, did it in vain. And survived Syrian terrorists will inevitably come to our country that is why it is better to beat them at the alien territory without looking back to the Memorial society," the expert summed up.

How about the Russkies stop aiding Assad with arms and political support, as well as Iran and by extension Hizbollah? Are Christians only important when they’re not getting killed by Russian bullets?

So far, the Russians seem to be the only ones standing up for Christians in Syria.

obama and the democrats only seem interested in expansion of the saudi, muslim brotherhood, and al Qaeda agenda.

The Russkies are murderous thugs adept at propaganda. Even the ROC is still headed by known KGB. Their version of Christianity is just as another arm of the state. Their true interests are purely strategic. Freepers need to wise up. Wake me up when they renounce the terrorist groups beneath their umbrella, these vile hypocrites.

Onward, Christian soldiers!

Will Obama drop bombs on squadrons of Russian Orthodox volunteers?

"The Russkies are murderous thugs adept at propaganda.

Really..so has the admin that you protect not use propaganda to help Islamism? Are you willing to watch Christian villages destroyed that have existed in Syria so McCain can open a marxist propaganda training camp for leftists in Syria?...because that is the "propaganda" that you prefer?

You need to get your head out of the past and check to see who is really on your side buddy.

I guess it depends which brand of Islam you like best. Though according to Alexander Litvinenko, now deceased, Ayman Al’Zawahiri was trained by the FSB too. Makes me wonder if Russia’s monster isn’t a little out of control.

Personally, I believe obama, the dems, the muslim brotherhood, the Saudis, and al Qaeda are pretty adept at propaganda too.

We can spin propaganda but there is no spinning 3000 Americans dying at the hands of terrorists on 9-11-01.

It's no longer 1962.

Russia is the only major world power which is interested in protecting Christians. Britain, France and China aren't and after the Iraqi catastrophe, it's perfectly clear that neither is the US.

Russia is emerging from a 75 year, militantly atheistic nightmare and becoming once again, the Christian country it once was. Catholics familiar with the Fatima prophecies know this and understand it.

The US nightmare is just beginning.

First of all, China is a dedicated ally of Russia, even when they act like they aren’t. They also oppose intervention in Syria, so I’m not sure why you mentioned them. Secondly, membership in the ROC in Russia is more cultural than anything else. The recent example of religious laws there is merely a manifestation of Kremlin policy. Not a result of Christian ethics. Lastly, Russia supports people who simply kill Christians and Jews in other locales. Syria is special since they have interests there. Georgia has Christians, but Putin still invaded it. I still remember photos of mangled bodies and Russian soldiers burning American flags.

There are no good guys in this, including Obama and Kerry. The rebels are slaughtering and ethnic cleansing the minorities and Assad and his allies should play that up.
