Yet...yet...yet...
THE right-off-the-bat Mormon missionary lesson that their 80,000 missionaries CURRENTLY teach is that when all the apostles (but John) died "...Christs true church did not exist. NO ONE held the authority to act in Gods name."
See: Lds Missionary LESSON 1 THE RESTORATION OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST
What? The apostle John didn't hold the authority to act in God's Name?
Really?
Is that what you Mormon missionaries are telling others? You believe he was afloatin' 'round earth...yet has had zilcho divine authority these past 1900+ years???
This is an outrage. I think.
We now know what the final battle sounded like on hill Cumorah as hordes of Jewish Indians (aka Lamanites) fired withering storms of arrows at the surrounded hapless Nephites,
“Shizzzzz...Shizzzzz....SHIZZZZZZ!!!”
So total was the slaughter, not one single trace remains.
So who has the picture of Mel Brooks on a horse?
I had a Mormon tell me that John lost the priesthood because he was “not worthy”. @.@
I saw a Mormon Web article recently which said that official Mormondom used to blame the "universal apostasy" on the early Christian leaders...but that the Mormon narrative had changed over more to blaming the Christian grassroots.
The current Mormon missionary lesson indeed blames the Christians-at-large back then -- not the leadership.
John isn’t dead, he feels happy.....
Monty Python reference.
"He's just resting..."
You gotta think he would stand out in a crowd if that was true.
It should read John was not "martyred."
Nope. If you go to the Lds add-on "scriptures" -- what they call "Doctrines & Covenants"... you'll find their intro to Section 7 clearly focuses on whether John died:
Section 7
Revelation given to Joseph Smith the Prophet and Oliver Cowdery, at Harmony, Pennsylvania, April 1829, when they inquired through the Urim and Thummim as to whether John, the beloved disciple, tarried in the flesh or had died.
Source: D&C 7
6 And he said unto them: Behold, I know your thoughts, and ye have desired the thing which John, my beloved, who was with me in my ministry, before that I was lifted up by the Jews, desired of me. 7 Therefore, more blessed are ye, for ye shall never taste of death; but ye shall live to behold all the doings of the Father unto the children of men, even until all things shall be fulfilled according to the will of the Father, when I shall come in my glory with the powers of heaven. (3 Nephi 28:6-7, Book of Mormon)
So not only does the official Mormon church teach that the apostle John's been "hangin' 'round" all these centuries, but that he could have been "linkin' up" with these Book of Mormon times Nephite entourage!
With all of these "No Coffin Zone" Mormons on the loose, at large, wonder why Joey Smith ever illusioned that he was somehow necessary as a 14-yo pimple-faced kid to jumpstart "the only true and living church on the face of the earth" (Lds "scriptures" -- D&C 1:30)????
Oh sure. John was "worthy enough" to be granted the Mormon version of the "Fountain of youth" ... but not "worthy enough" to hold something that Mormon women are now clamoring for ...
What do you think of those Mormon women who are going to stand in line for the Mormon priesthood meeting in Salt Lake City at the General Conference this weekend...a "male only" enterprise???

I totally support it. I thought about flying out to SLC to join them.
Women in Mormonism are second class citizens treated just as badly as Muslim women, excepting the burka. Yes, I examples to illustrate that. These women, are standing up to ATTEND A MEETING, this shouldn’t be a huge deal, but like the wear pants to church thing last year, it is freaking out the Mormon men.
As a Christian, I hold the same authority to act in the name of Christ as my husband or any other believer. Christians believe in equal rights, Mormons do not.
We are TOO equal!!

To the headline: OMG!
Obviously you haven’t walked around downtown in a major city. A guy in full Roman garb would not be out of place with all of todays freaks...
Surely by NOW they'd have this nailed DOWN!

So whats your experience with the Three Nephites?
