Prayer for Our American Heroes and Nation

Psalm 73:16 So I tried to understand why the wicked prosper. But what a difficult task it is! 17 Then I went into your sanctuary, O God, and I finally understood the destiny of the wicked . . . 21 Then I realized that my heart was bitter, and I was all torn up inside. 22 I was so foolish and ignorant—I must have seemed like a senseless animal to you. 23 Yet I still belong to you; you hold my right hand. . . 28 But as for me, how good it is to be near God! I have made the Sovereign LORD my shelter, and I will tell everyone about the wonderful things you do.

Dear LORD, this prayer is for those who question. OH LORD, we question why when the news comes our way…and the enemy seems to win. We question why, when our nation seems to be traveling all the roads that lead to destruction. We question why, but I am so thankful that YOU have told us, that we can come to YOU…in secret … holding nothing back…and you lead us to TRUTH…to repentance…back to TRUST, and ultimately to WORSHIP for YOU INDEED are SOVEREIGN GOD and we find our only shelter and hope in YOU. Renew, Dear LORD, we pray the hearts of the hurting today with THY GREAT COMPASSION and UNENDING LOVE. Protect us, from ever feeling as if we are not YOURS, or YOU do not care. Help us always in all things to remember and speak of YOUR GREAT MERCY and GRACE and DIVINE LOVE…for it is GOOD to be near YOU GOD…now and forever more…Amen.
