Prayer for our American Heroes and Nation

So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper . . . Hebrews 13:6

I will not fear; what can man do to me? . . . “Do not fear those who kill the body, and after that have nothing more that they can do. But I will warn you whom to fear: fear him who, after he has killed, has authority to cast into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him!” . . . “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.”

I will not fear; what can man do to me? . . . I will also speak of your testimonies before kings and shall not be put to shame.

I will not fear; what can man do to me? . . . Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. . .

OH LORD, what more can be added to this, OH GOD…for THE LORD IS MY HELPER…GREAT IS THY NAME…ETERNAL GOD, is there any wonder YOU make warning that cursed is anyone who takes away or adds a single jot or tittle to YOUR DIVINE WORD. STANDING UPON YOUR WORD ALONE…WE HAVE THE CONFIDENCE we need to withstand every foe…to defeat every foe…to even rejoice in the face of every foe…PRAISE YOUR LORD..for who, what, where and how can anything or anyone separate us from the LOVE OF GOD…which is only IN CHRIST JESUS OUR LORD…AMEN. and AMEN.

OH LORD, as we pray for courage for our precious beloved heroes, we pray that YOU will be the LORD of their life…their Helper, their Shepherd, their Shield, their Stronghold, their Power, their Purpose, their SALVATION, and above all THEIR GOD..to the PRAISE and GLORY of YOUR NAME, and the good of their souls…Amen.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who straggled into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.



AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, with the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever, Amen.
