It is prayers to him with the Heavenly Court of witnesses. You just do not see it. But in case you would like to see how it ends.

V. Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God.

R. That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.

Let us pray. O GOD, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has Purchased for Us the Rewards of Eternal Life, Grant, we beseech Thee, that meditating upon these mysteries(Miracle events in the Gospel) of the Most Holy Rosary of the Blessed Virgin Mary, we may imitate what they contain and obtain what they promise, through the Same Christ Our Lord. Amen.

If we read everything to the end we get a better picture that Christ is the center of it all.

Peace in Christ.

This Plinio guy and his organization are an interesting bunch. Unlike most right wing Catholics, he actually rejected the idea that Francisco Franco was a traditional Catholic but claimed instead that he was a "national socialist" who used traditional Catholicism. TFP is also adamantly opposed to distributism and seems to favor a more American-style understanding of capitalism (again, most unusual in far right Catholics). Whatever one might say about all this, it means they are not traditional European "fascists."

However, they also seem to equate chrstianity with Europe as an ethnoculture; ie, Europe is the chrstian 'Eretz Yisra'el and the European nations are the new (lehavdil) "tribes of Israel." Medieval Europe is regarded as a sort of one-time utopian millennium which must be restored.

The attack on conservative American Protestants in the articles referenced was entirely uncalled-for.

15 Promises Our Lady gave for praying the Most Holy Rosary (with a cutoff at the I , Me, My on each or any for effect) from the How to Pray the Rosary booklet... Catholics, please flee from this .....
Way too many I, Me, My’s for any prophetess.....regardless of her claim to be our Savior’s Jewish mother....

1. Whoever shall faithfully serve Me.....

2. I promise My special protection....

3. The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell, it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.

4. It will cause virtue and good works to flourish; it will obtain for souls the abundant mercy of God; it will withdraw the hearts of men from the love of the world and its vanities, and will lift them to the desire of eternal things. Oh, that souls would sanctify themselves by this means.

5. The soul which recommends itself to Me....

6. Whoever shall recite the Rosary devoutly, applying himself to the consideration of its sacred mysteries, shall never be conquered by misfortune. God will not chastise him in His justice, he shall not perish by an unprovided death; if he be just he shall remain in the grace of God, and become worthy of eternal life.

7. Whoever shall have a true devotion for the Rosary shall not die without the Sacraments of the Church.

8. Those who are faithful in reciting the Rosary shall have during their life and at their death the light of God and the plenitude of His graces; at the moment of death they shall participate in the merits of the saints in paradise.

9. I shall deliver from purgatory....

10. The faithful children of the Rosary shall merit a high degree of glory in Heaven.

11. You shall obtain all you ask of Me.....

12. All those who propagate the holy Rosary shall be aided by Me....

14. All who recite the Rosary are My sons.....

15. Devotion to My Rosary.....

Please do not insult the millions of the Christian faith who venerate the Blessed Virgin. You are entitled to your beliefs; so are we.

As long as you leave the bible out of it...You (your religion) pervert the bible to claim justification for your pagan practices...You guys can worship goats and candy canes and it won't make a bit of difference to me, until you pervert the Holy Scriptures and falsely claim the scriptures gives you the authority to do that...

Catholics pray to the Blessed Virgin as well as the Saints to ask them to offer intercessory prayers for us.

Your religion has proven time and again that it teaches to pray to Mary alone for salvation, for grace, for healing, and every other attribute that is possessed of God alone...

That's what we and God object to and most of you know it...

Let us pray. O GOD, whose only begotten Son, by His life, death, and resurrection, has Purchased for Us the Rewards of Eternal Life,

That saying is a little convoluted...Are you sure you understand what the activity at the cross was all about???

Jesus did not purchase a reward for us, Jesus purchased us...

1Co 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

It's interesting that most Catholics seem to ignore this verse and those like it which show that believers are indwelt with the Holy Spirit...

I find it odd that you, claiming to be 'in the Spirit' do not bring this message to the other Catholics on these threads...

And it's odd to me that you find yourself in communion with those who reject the idea of the indwelling of the Spirit...But anyway;

1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

“Maybe you can, but I don’t think I can.”

Do you love Jesus and your spouse (and kids?) or just Jesus? I’m serious. If you can love your spouse, your kids, your parents, your siblings, your friends, your neighbors (gee, didn’t Jesus tell us to love them and our enemies to?) AND Jesus then you can love the saints too.

BUMP

and what in the world is a Fatima?

is it related to Enema?

Being saved requires God through Jesus, that is all. You don’t need to worry about “Saints” who are appointed as such by humans.

Very much agree (American needs Fatima). Don't know anything about the organization but agree with the statement.

...Skipping all the subsequent nasty comments.

Love and religious devotion are two separate things though. If I start setting up shrines to my earthly loved ones or saying repetitive prayers to them, then it might be a fair comparison. Otherwise, there isn’t an equivalency.

Think of Lepanto and the miracle that happened there when so many people said the Rosary!

“Love and religious devotion are two separate things though.”

And which one were you commenting on? Let’s look at what you responded to:

“We can love and honor Mary, and Joseph, and Paul, and Augustine etal and still have unlimited of love and devotion to give to the One we all, the living and the saved dead, are living for.”

See that? “can love and honor”; “unlimited of love and devotion”.

And your response?

“Maybe you can, but I don’t think I can. I’m only human, and there are only so many hours in the day. Once I feel I have sufficiently honored the Lord with all the devotion he deserves, then maybe I will see if I have any left to spare for mere men. So far, I haven’t given Him his due yet.”

So, you honor the Lord but have no love for Him? After all, you said, “Love and religious devotion are two separate things though.”

“If I start setting up shrines to my earthly loved ones or saying repetitive prayers to them, then it might be a fair comparison. Otherwise, there isn’t an equivalency.”

Yes, there is. Do you love those people or not? Have any pictures of them around the house? Ever celebrate their birthdays, anniversaries, accomplishments, etc.? If you can do those things for your family AND LOVE THEM TOO OF COURSE and yet also love Jesus, then you have room for saints in your life too. Sorry, that’s just irrefutable. If you’re going to tell me you have no time or energy for anyone other than the Lord, then you had better not be married or have kids.

Thank you delchiante! When one holds the rosary, they are holding the hand of Mary, the most perfect mother who was ever on this earth, the mother of Christ, both sinless beings... I don’t know what I’d do without the rosary; it brings me peace, it brings me joy, it brings me Jesus... every day..

Got to remember that the last recorded words of Mary was at Cana, in which Jesus did His first miracle and goes by this: “do as He tells you.”

This applies to all who follow Jesus.
