MADRID (AP) -- The Vatican on Sunday beatified 522 people - mostly priests and nuns - who were killed in the turmoil that led to Spain's civil war.

Killed by? Who killed them, AP?
It was the COMMUNISTS.
The article does not give details on those being beatified. However, we know from history that the church was on the side of the fascists as the leftist/communists (called republicans and you think we twist meanings in this country) government had outlawed religion.
The Spainish civil war of the 1930’s had a lot in common with the Syrian civil war of today.
1. It’s a proxy war for outside powers to flex their muscles
2. There’s no good guys as far as America is concerned
Heh. I bet the Obama Regime will try to make the point that it was the REPUBLICANS.
(Pun too obvious. Can’t help it.)
**It was the COMMUNISTS.***
But, they were the good guys! Haven’t you read or seen FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS.
No no, they were the bad guys! Haven’t you seen THE ANGEL WORE RED?
No,No! They were the good guys! Haven’t you seen PAN’S LABYRINTH?
Man, keeping up with the Spanish Civil War on film is tiresome!
There were a lot of executions on both sides, “The Red Terror” and “The White Terror.” Something like 75% of the dead in the Spanish Civil War were executions.
I always have thought of the Spanish Civil war as akin to the Nazi/Russian Eastern Front in WWII.
Not particularly rooting for either side.
