A task force created by the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis to investigate clergy misconduct includes a psychologist who works on sex offender management, a computer forensics expert and a former St. Paul police sergeant. Members say their work will be independent of the archdiocese they're investigating.

An MPR News investigation has revealed that several priests suspected of sexual misconduct were protected by the Twin Cities archdiocese.

Uh huh. Sort of like Eric Holder's DOJ investigating itself.

I read the title as if clergy were being abused.

With Francis’s latest statements soft-pedaling homosexual priests, expect it to get worse.

Lets all attack the Catholic Church! Especially when it tries to do something productive to solve its problems!

Push back against Obama and Co.? Naw. Lets just keep busy ripping each other apart instead.

"when it tries to do something productive to solve its problems!"...?

Solving its problems won't BEGIN until Rome and her members find the gospel of their salvation and turn to the FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST for their justification, sanctification and their redemption. Everything else they do is just window dressing. Trying to hide the monster behind the window.

What are you talking about? The Catholic Church preaches 'universal healthcare', next Mary's face is going to be use by the unholy bishops to demand the illegal invasion to be legalized .... There is nothing 'tea party' NO taxation without representation about the Catholic Church. And their politics are forcing me and mine to pay the taxation they demand.

How many 'poor' could have been clothed and fed with all the pay outs to the victims of the fake priests. Get out the check books or maybe one can buy government mandated insurance for the perpetual victims.

"Solving its problems won't BEGIN until Rome and her members find the gospel of their salvation and turn to the FINISHED WORK OF CHRIST for their justification, sanctification and their redemption."

Catholics would tell you they already have the gospel of salvation. We could go back and forth on that point, but at the end of the day there would be no agreement. And in the meantime the abuse scandal still remains a seriously issue.

This is a step in the right direction. But to some people the Catholic Church can do no good.

My point of view is simple - worshiping human beings (Mary, "saints") is heresy and invites satanic influence into one's life. The pathological corruption in the Catholic church bears witness to this.

We are living in a post-Christian age in America and we see the results every day on the news. The rampant sexual abuse of innocent children by priests is a perfect example of what happens when we deny the Holy Spirit and worship the creation instead of the Creator.

I truly believe that if people will turn away from false religions, churches and priests, and, instead, turn directly to the Lord Jesus Christ, lives will change and we can push back against the evil surrounding us. But, this will NOT happen by worshiping the false goddess Mary.

I applaud the effort to do good investigations. There are so many cases backlogged this will take years to sort out.

The HS I went to had a priest who was caught twice by police for sexual misconduct against minor boys. The one incident was swept under the carpet by the police and the second one the family received a pay out settlement from the RCC.

When the Boston area accusations surfaced, more and more boys were coming forward at the HS against the same priest. The families were assured the priest would be dismissed and moved to a monastery style environment where he would be given psychological treatment. So they paid out to those families to not press charges.

A few years later a local reporter found out the priest was sent to an upscale Long Island parish as the pastor. Where of course he was still preying on and abusing boys.

He was not just 'a' priest at the HS. He was the principal! The principal priest created a club for HS boys interested in the priesthood. He interviewed and selected the boys for the program and used that 'club' to prey on the boys.

IMO, you can't get the Gospel right if you don't get Genesis 1:1 right.

Hi Alex- Actually back in my early twenties bar fly days I was at the bar in the wee hours with two guys plotting at the bar to set-up a priest. No kidding totally serious. The devil will work both ways. Just so you know. I actually saw it and heard it. I told them I heard them. It was quite a night.

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

Then what should be criticized for the obvious insult?

Please let this post stand as I omitted the objectional term used in my previous posts.

>> My point of view is simple - worshiping human beings (Mary, “saints”) is heresy and invites satanic influence into one’s life. The pathological corruption in the Catholic church bears witness to this.

invite: To encourage or tend to bring on

heresy: A belief that rejects the orthodox tenets of a religion

satanic: Extremely evil or cruel; expressive of cruelty or befitting hell

corruption: Moral perversion; impairment of virtue and moral principles

pathology: involving, caused by, or of the nature of a physical or mental disease

Catholicism: adherence to the forms of Christian doctrine and practice which are generally regarded as Catholic rather than Protestant or Eastern Orthodox.

There is no problem at all in that post. The guideline here is basically no ad hominems. In other words, you can condemn or ridicule the message or deities, religious authorities, belief groups, etc. - but not the messenger if he is a Freeper.

For example, you could say "Baptists are idiots" and that would not be making it personal. But if you said "You are an idiot" that would be making it personal.
