Here is a case where a nun becomes an enabler for a pedophile. Utterly sickening. Imagine that you are a child who is being abused. When you work up the courage to tell an adult (a nun!) she accuses YOU and punishes you.
Sounds like the way Obama treats whistle blowers. This is how endemic corruption works.
And you seem to relish posting about it.
6 billion people in the world, you go halfway around to find a snip, and you call it “endemic corruption”?
I can find lots of public school districts doing the same without crossing state lines.
The corruption in Catholicism is endemic and has existed for centuries. Stick your head in the sand. Forget about innocent children being abused by those who claim they are serving God! How perverse do these people have to be and how constant and far-reaching their vile defiling of children before you people will get it?
“The corruption in Catholicism is endemic and has existed for centuries.”
All people are corrupt - including you and me.
“Stick your head in the sand.”
No, that’s what you have done. That’s why you can only see dirt.
“Forget about innocent children being abused by those who claim they are serving God!”
I don’t want to forget them. I also don’t want to continuous attack Christ’s Church just because there are sinners in it.
“How perverse do these people have to be and how constant and far-reaching their vile defiling of children before you people will get it?”
I got it a long time ago. Now it’s time for you to get it: We’re not leaving Christ’s Church because of anything some sinner does because we’re all sinners and all need Christ. Judge the Church by her saints and not by those who are disobedient to her teachings.
Yet another sectarian conflict breaks out on FR.
Let’s cool the personal attacks, people
I'm Forgiven. I pray for those who are blinded by sin. How about you?
No thanks. I prefer truth. If it isn’t your cup of tea, stay out of it.
BTW, not a single Catholic currently attacking me has posted one word of concern for this child.
Btw, I'm not Catholic but I do love Christ and he didn't direct me to "Go forth and persecute your own".
“there are a lot of good people who are Democrats”
The baby-killing, sodomizing, socializing, communist Demoncrats? There are ‘a lot’ of good ones?
Please stop for just a second. What does this accomplish? Nobody has done anything here but be get seriously angry.
Pray when you wake up. Pray when you drink your coffee. Pray on your way to work. Pray for every person you talk to today - while you’re talking to them. Whoever or whatever pops into your mind during your day, pray. Pray at all meals and at the end of the day. Make sure nobody notices any of this except God right?
Pray unceasingly and nobody will be fighting with you and peace will be your spirit, not contention. I love you brother and peace be with you
Claiming to be a Christian does not give one license to terrorize little children.
Jesus did warn about wolves in sheep's clothing, IIRC.
A child is abused and a FReeper is spreading discord?
Got it.
I am seeing a rug SO swept under that it’s looking like a hill now. A REALLY big hill...
There are none so blind.............
....as someone who cries tolerance for sinners is the most important of virtues.
IF YOU ARE NOT CATHOLIC, THIS IS EYE OPENING...
When the Catholic Church was founded, there were no hospitals. Today, one
out of five people in this country receive their medical care at a Catholic
hospital.
When the Catholic Church was founded, there were no schools. Today, the
Catholic Church teaches 3 million students a day, in its more than 250
Catholic Colleges and Universities, in its more than 1200 Catholic High
Schools and its more than 5000 Catholic grade schools.
Every day, the Catholic Church feeds, clothes, shelters and educates more people than any other organization in the world.
The new Obama Health Mandate could end all this and the tax payers would have to make up the loss.
Also, all Catholic adoption services would come to an end; a human disaster.
There are more than 77 million Catholics in this country. It takes an estimated 50 million Catholic votes to elect a president.
What a typically fascist leftist question, like asking anyone who opposes the massive expansion of school breakfast programs, "so you want poor children to go hungry?".
Apparently there are some "conservatives" who are anxious apply fascist left guilt by association standards to anyone who who questions the view of their "conservative" pals.
What can you say when one of yours hurts someone so terribly, but be deeply sorry and humbled further, praying much for the victim and also for the perpetrator of the ghastly action.
Anger on folks part is reasonable. Mocking is expected. Blanket labeling of even the many good also is to be expected.
Helping the victim is due, and a reasonable portion for the attorneys efforts, but unreasonable profits for the attorneys is just adding additional harm to the world in taking money intended for others’ needs.
It seems I am almost the exact age as the accuser. Thinking back, I could not tell you the name of a single priest or nun I knew when I was 10 or 11 years old, which would be when I was attending a Catholic school over 50 years ago. Sixth, seventh, eighth grade teacher? Pastor? Assistant pastor? I'm drawing a blank.
Quite a Roshomon Effect (Link): Very pitiful and tragic. May God have mercy on them all.
Are you sure you don’t have the Big “A”?
I can name every nun who taught me and every priest who served in my home parish, all the way back to 1942.
Try green tea with pomegranate. It’s good for the memory. ;)
Also, I can name every girl in my graduating class back in 1950.
And every boy who pulled my pigtails and stole my hair ribbons.
There are lots of names of kids I can remember: Mary Alice K, Bridget S, Edna M, Consuelo S., Daniel G, Robert G, Steve S, etc. And one teacher: Mr. Keats, who taught us Science (the only layman I had as a teacher in my entire K-12 school career.) I don't remember the nuns' names at all. Except...
I do remember the name of the nun who taught us to sing in Latin when I was in the 7th grade: Sr. Mary Ita (pronounced EAT-a.) And here's something remarkable: I can still remember the sung, Gregorian Kyrie, the Gloria, the Credo (the whole thing!!) the Sanctus/Benedictus, and the Agnus Dei. Everything I sang.
Green tea with pomegranate, hmm? Will that bring back all the happy memories?
Typical and telling isnt it?
Tolerance: The last and only virtue of the completely immoral society.
I notice teachers in several States being caught isn't on the radar of those who pretend they're concerned about what happened fifty years ago. Such selective posters don't actually care about anything, the truth included, except their own agenda.
". . . and the horse they rode in on" to such folks.
The poster said this is an example of how endemic corruption works he did call it “endemic corruption”.
In any organization, institution or society where crimes are swept under the rug or the victims are treated bad for speaking out- not just by the perp but others, you get a situation that is endemic corruption.
There is a cadre of FReepers that always seems to show up and attack those who attack pedophilia.
It’s very interesting
Arresting pedophiles and those who enable them is blasphemy??
I am in no way defending these reprehensible actions. My comment was on the Freeper infighting on BOTH sides that permeates every religious thread.
Please point out where I attacked anyone, if you can.
Telling, isn't it?
It never happens.
Then my guess would be that you weren't molested by them. Cause I can't imagine ever forgetting the name of someone who did something like that to me.
None of you have wept for this “child” (who is now in her 60’s) either but it’s sure given you a club against Catholic FReepers. This thread is bait at the door of the lions den. Glad I’m NOT a Catholic FReeper.
I agree and if people quit playing games and insist that school systems and social services agencies get actively investigated in an effective way we could start solving the problem.
