TOPICS: Catholic; Moral Issues
KEYWORDS: catholic; lawsuit; sexualabuse
The priest, Rev. Mike Tegeder of St. Frances Cabrini in the Minneapolis-St. Paul diocese, bemoans the possibility that parishoners may tithe less because of the sexual abuse scandals, hurting church coffers. Further, he complains that the pension plan for priests might become insolvent!

Well, boo hoo. Not a word of concern for the victims of abuse at the hands of these "men of God" - just some mewling that his pension might get dinged.

In before the blaming the victim’s crowd.

Or the ones accusing the victims of lying just looking to win a cash handout.

Too bad you turds aren’t as upset about the actual molestations going on in Yeshivas. Not money making schemes against Catholics but actual molestation.

I'm part of the blame-the-homosexuals-who-once-again-can't-control-themselves-and-are-abusing-their-sacerdotal-power-crowd.

Pro-amnesty homilies have probably done more to drive down collections than anything else.

There’s never been a “blaming the victim’s crowd”.

A true victim is never in the wrong, but a [supposed] victim looking for a handout, is reprehensible indeed, and they should serve time for the destruction they've caused to the priest. Our parish priest was one of those men; he had to retire early, had a heart attack, just a mess. He was destroyed by the false accusation.
