Satan has gained a lot of ground in this world by convincing people that fear of the Lord is beneath us or silly. But God's Word says:
"The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever." Psalm 19
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding." Proverbs 19
fear, meaning healthy deserved respect.
Right - Lucifer should be afraid of the Lord Yeshua.
Yep.
I would suspect, that if demons believe and tremble, Lucifer trembles too.
Personally I think that Satan is not particularly present, because Satan doesn’t need to be. This is because mankind has long mastered Satan’s vice of vanity.
Looking at the Bible, the most noteworthy of man’s failures were all due to vanity, attempting to usurp God’s place in things. It is the one vice that, again and again, resulted in the worst of God’s punishments.
To continue this line of thought, it may not even be the hand of God that punishes mankind for its vanity. The punishment may be automatic. The warning may be as of a parent telling their child to not touch a hot stove. It is not the parent that burns them, nor even a willful act of the hot stove. It is the defiance of the child, their vanity, that results in their burn.
The idea of socialism is vanity defined. It seeks to set man up as a replacement for God. And look at the devastation it has wrought.
That is an excellent point.
So many anti-God types portray God as a capricious, vengeful deity because they claim he *threatens* those who don't fall in line when the reality is much likely closer to what you stated. He's warning us of the consequences of our actions and it's not the same as inflicting them on us.
Just as violation of physical laws results in physical consequences, violation of spiritual laws has spiritual consequences.
I can warn someone that if they jump out a window, they will fall to the ground and be killed, but that doesn't mean that I caused gravity to take effect or that their falling is my responsibility.
Warning someone of something happening isn't making the something happen.
