I met an older gentleman as we prayed outside an abortion clinic that said his religion was older than we Catholics’ because he followed John the Baptist, before Peter became the first pope. I thought that unique, pre-Christian, but I guess he was proclaiming something they have stated before.

Then again, we believe in the Hebrew God, so the religion is older than that! I sometimes think we should stop saying Catholic and just go back to catholic and let the confusion create the mess Francis talks about.
