Thomas Williams, the onetime public face of the disgraced Legion of Christ religious order who left the priesthood after admitting he fathered a child, is getting married this weekend to the child's mother, The Associated Press has learned. The bride is the daughter of former U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See Mary Ann Glendon, one of Pope Francis' top advisers.

He’s a great looking guy, good thing he is getting married. Would have been difficult to stay celibate as women would have been throwing themselves at him anyway. Seriously...

There was a married couple in my hometown who were formerly a priest and a nun. They left to marry each other.

Fr. Williams committed a wrong while he was still a priest and then he didn’t own up to it. But, he’s owning up to it now and is marrying the woman.

I suppose they won’t be having a Catholic wedding, but you never know these days.

If the priest has been properly laicized, and the woman doesn't have any other putative marriages, there is no reason why they couldn't be married.

The only thing i see is that he should have put her and the child first instead of his position in the Church.

If he received permission to leave the active priesthood, then he and Lev actually have a right to a Catholic wedding (unless there’s some other impediment).

I had that problem until I ran into a Cherokee who fell for me.

Even before we were married she threw out the stripper I was living with and convinced me to stop working as a bouncer at a strip joint.

Now though, after thirty-two years of marriage and a lot of rough miles, it's not a problem. In fact, the last thing that threw itself at me was a possum charging into the road in front of my truck. The wife ran it over so I know she still cares.

I know nothing of the faith practices/beliefs, moral behaviors, or background of Marianne’s daughter, but Glendon, herself, is a class act and a fighter for every conservative interest.

Glendon joined every other US ambassador to the Vatican in exposing the nefarious and unnecessary Obama move to remove our embassy in the Vatican into the shadow of the Italian state embassy. She likely led the charge but I can’t confirm it.

I did not say she was unattractive, and would not think she would be. The couple would not “match” otherwise.

“Big mistake on her part. He broke his last commitment and he’ll cheat again.”

Certainly a higher risk of cheating with his track record. Of course it was pretty gross of her to have an affair with a priest. Wonder if her other kids were fathered by priests as well.

Probably not, in the first place it did not start out right, a young lad who was most likely brain washed into thinking he wanted to be a Priest with out thinking of the sacrifices the Church put on that duty.

The Church recruiting young people to help run the Church at an age when they are not mature enough to know what they want, much less what they can do.

The shame, if there is any lies in the religious society who care nothing about common sense or right or wrong but only pomp and prestige.

The man most likely had good intentions and how long did he fight his natural inclinations before he gave into them just because he was bound to his commitment to the Church.

Yes he should have quit the Church first, but the Church should either stop the unmarried Priests rule or quit recruiting men too young to even know any thing about it.

It sounds to me like it was the woman who wanted to horrify and mortify her mother by screwing a priest.

Why not come out with it then, don,t be bashful, but let me guess could it be that i find fault with the teaching of the Church?

It sounds to me like it was the woman who wanted to horrify < and mortify her mother by screwing a priest. >

That could very well be, since she is said to have three kids it must have not been the only time.

If they are raised by their parents and do nothing but go to school until they are 50 i doubt if they are mature.

I realize i might have exaggerated a little but i
just don,t like professional politicians or preachers.
