PLease explain...

I forgot to suggest that one hint is that there were three denials before the first rooster-crow, and three others before the second rooster-crow. Simon wailed after the second crowing, for he knew the consequences of the denials.

No one said he was the first...But Jesus said Paul was picked to sent to the Gentiles while Peter would go to the Jews...

I could make the same comment to you.

Acts 15
7 And when there had been much disputing, Peter rose up, and said unto them, Men and brethren, ye know how that a good while ago God made choice among us, that the Gentiles by my mouth should hear the word of the gospel, and believe.

You believe that Paul was the apostle to the Gentiles which is fine, But I happen to believe a little different.

"God chose Peter. and just as Paul wrote about wisely chosing successors to the bishop, Peter chose his successor, under God’s grace and will, he chose Linus"

Yes, Peter was the head of the Church after Jesus. However, Linus was voted in by the people not chosen by anyone in authority. God didn't chose him. That's why some argued that it was actually Clement that should have lead the church.

Linus was head of a whole new church, not Christ's Church.

There is very strong evidence of this because God spoke to Peter face to face but never spoke to Linus. Also, even when Linus was voted into this position, God was still speaking to the Apostles directly, but never once did He speak to Linus. That's not my opinion, that's historical fact.

All the overseers of the churches were told to 'feed the flock'...You'll have to find something else for your proof...

We have been posting citations for our assertions... please show the same courtesy.

and that means reading the Bible for themselves - not taking anyone’s word at face value - regardless of whether it is a Catholic or Protestant.

would that be the bible that they wrote?

It isn’t the Bible - its the way people interpret or misinterpret it. One needs to pray for understanding - ask and ye shall receive, knock and it shall be opened unto you....

It's a good thing you came along when you did... the Catholic Church has never tried this approach. After 2,000 years, we can finally start doing it right.

You are right there are some things i am not sure what to believe, for instance i can only guess what the mark of the beast is,just like most every one else.

And yes, I believe every thing the bible says.

So you must believe that both Peter and Paul were sent to preach the Gospel to the gentiles because that is what the Bible says.

Its quite apparent that you aren’t familiar with your own religion and how the Catholic Church discouraged the laity from reading the Bible for themselves. Are you aware of why they have prayer beads? I’ll leave you to look up these things for yourself - but, since the Catholic Church tells you what to think and believe - I seriously doubt that your heart and mind are open to the truth in Jesus Christ. I’m not against Catholic people - only what they teach and believe, because they walk in error in so many things. Having said that- God sent His Son to die for everyone’s sins, and that includes the Catholics. Whether one accepts His plan of salvation is up to each individual - no denomination is going to take you to heaven - only belief in Jesus can.

Jesus had much to say about stiff-necked people who wouldn’t listen to the truth - so, please continue in your stiff-necked ways - its your eternal soul.

Its quite apparent that you aren’t familiar with your own religion...

I really should just stop reading right there. It's quite apparent you would rather condescend than have an open conversation. I guess I'm just a glutton for punishment...

... and how the Catholic Church discouraged the laity from reading the Bible for themselves.

Because, truly, private interpretation is not only encouraged in the Bible but has brought great unity wherever it's been professed.

2 Peter 1:20 Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

2 Peter 3:16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

When the Apostles brought Christ to the early Church, they didn't bring a stack of Bibles and pass them around for the people to memorize. They brought their personal testimony and, yes, tradition (2 Thess 2:15). If it took the personal reading and memorization of Scripture to have a true church, then we had to wait 1,500 years for Gutenberg to give us the printing press. Prior to that, Bibles were scarce (as they were copied by the hands of monks and others) and only to be heard by the masses at Holy Mass.

Are you aware of why they have prayer beads?

Considering this is an area of great scholarly disagreement, I would be happy to read your thesis. Generally, it originated in the early Church as a way of marking the recitation of prayers or even the Psalms. St Dominic received a vision from the Blessed Virgin Mary which transformed it universally into the prayer it is today... a meditation on the life and mysteries of Christ.

but, since the Catholic Church tells you what to think and believe - I seriously doubt that your heart and mind are open to the truth in Jesus Christ.

I'm having a discussion with you without casting aspersions on your motives and hardness of heart while you do so freely at me... and my heart and mind are closed to the truth? Check the mirror, my FRiend.

Jesus had much to say about stiff-necked people who wouldn’t listen to the truth - so, please continue in your stiff-necked ways - its your eternal soul.

Wise words. If you heeded them more than projected them it would be a more interesting conversation.

Look, the Bible never holds Itself out as the final arbiter of all truth. In fact, if you look to the Bible for whom you are to hold out as the "pillar and bulwark" of truth, it is the Church (1 Tim 3:15). When one is obstinate in sin, where do we go for discipline? Scripture? The Scriptures say we are to take him before the Church for discipline.

You deny what is plainly obvious throughout Scripture... that Christ gave us His Church (Matt 18:16) to lead and guide His people. If you care to read more... and I'm really tired of repeating myself... please feel free to visit my homepage for links to other discussions with your fellow protestants.

I thought they were historians.

And most pundits and editorials are sold today as news and newsmen. Biased history isn't really history. Close but with a personal twist.
