Caution: This post contains graphic depictions of human anatomy and sex acts.
So apparently theres a popular reality show on A&E called Duck Dynasty that follows the lives of a group of down-to-earth, Southern, duck-hunting entrepreneurs known for their Christian values and long beards. Ive never really given the show much thought, except for wondering why my colleague Jimmy Akin, who sports an equally awesome beard, has never made a guest appearance.
But now one of the main actors, Phil Robertson, has been indefinitely suspended from the show for comments he made about homosexuality and race. I dont have the space to address both comments, so lets focus on the ones getting the most attention.
Vile and Disgusting?
When I saw the headlines about what Robertson said, I braced myself for the worst. Apparently he had made a homophobic rant, composed of vile and disgusting comments about homosexuality. So what did he say? Here are the comments (from a recent interview Robertson did for GQ magazine) starting with the interviewer setting the scene:
Out here in these woods, without any cameras around, Phil is free to say what he wants. Maybe a little too free. Hes got lots of thoughts on modern immorality, and theres no stopping them from rushing out. Like this one:
It seems like, to me, a vaginaas a manwould be more desirable than a mans anus. Thats just me. Im just thinking: Theres more there! Shes got more to offer. I mean, come on, dudes! You know what Im saying? But hey, sin: Its not logical, my man. Its just not logical.
If this comment makes you squeamish, then perhaps it is anal sex that you think is...

For an interesting anecdote to all the GLAAD freaks, folks should try the interesting site “Gay Patriot” which is excoriating the gay left on this subject. The Patriots truly believe in free speech and will not censure anyone who comes on there and bashes the gay “life style.” Good reading! (They are particularly down on Andrew Sullivan, btw.)
An interview with a Manhattan based magazine. What could go wrong? I’m surprised they did ask him,if he believes rasslin’ is real.
*****Phil Robertson, has been indefinitely suspended from the show for comments he made about homosexuality and RACE***????????????????
I have not read anywhere that he included ‘racial epithets’.
What is this ‘author’ writing about??????????
An interview with a Manhattan based magazine. What could go wrong?
Everything that could go wrong with Manhattan went wrong a long, long time ago. Some people confuse aftermaths and end games. That's their problem.
People who identify themselves as LGBT have openly admitted that they have a mental disorder. That should serve as the first step toward fixing the problem.

When Tony Randall played Sydney Shorr on Tv, that was one of the defining lines.
I remember when I first found out what a queer was.
I could not believe it! “That is just not right!” I thought. I could not believe it for several years until the military had us serve KP at the outprocessing homo barracks at Lackland.
Even then I could not believe anyone could be that perverse till the USAF called all of us in once a year and gave us a talk on it, then required us to sign a form that we had been lectured to on the evils of homosexuality.
I was raised a very sheltered kid.
As I look back over the years, all my working life I have found that people who hate homos the most are the common working man who has NO RELIGIOUS TRAINING.
Religious people want to save the homo from his sin.
The unchurched working man wants to beat the h3!! out of them when approached by them.
I used to work with a queer who would announce he was on his way to buy some enemas in preparation for a visit with his boyfriend.
Mentally ill, yes, and so morally diseased that they boast about their depravity.
There are also quotes in the interview about Phil working with black people in the south doing field work. He said they didn’t complain about white people until after welfare and the entitlement mentality. You should find the direct quote.
“It seems like, to me, a vaginaas a manwould be more desirable than a mans anus. Thats just me.”
I so seriously need to start watching this show. That statement says it all!!
