Oh buy the way I don’t if my opinion counts (as he throws the hand grenade)I’m Catholic and have been told by “Christians” that I’m not Christian.

Better for me?

If I couldn’t work on holidays, I wouldn’t be able to afford to live.

How is this any different than watching the NBA on Christmas or the NFL (if Christmas is on a football day)? Like it or not, you are shopping and buying through advertisements and cable fees. And what about Sunday sports in general. I’m not convinced this is what God meant when he said, “Remember to keep holy the Sabbath day.”

The federal dept. of religious activities and conformity should shut them all done....

It should be a day of reflection on the greatness of Dear Leader....

/ S

Maybe the free market will decide if being open on Christmas Day is a good idea?

I don’t see what being a Christian has a lot to do with it...

Just a thought ....

I grew up in a small southern town in the sixties. All retail stores were closed on Wednesday afternoons and Sundays.

I guess you and Scrooge would get along. He laided into Bob Cratchet for being late the day after Christmas. Heck even Scrooge gave Cratchet Christmas day off.

What if you were Jewish. You could not go shopping on the sabbath

that might or might not be true...one way or the other, it would be MY choice, not the governments...I like it a lot that way...

No doubt being with loved ones is great on a holiday...but being able to pay the rent and keep the electricity on is even better.

AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is a Jewish deli in my town where the local Jews congregate on Christmas. I’ve never been inside, they don’t serve reuben sandwiches, and what’s a Jewish deli without ruebens?!

I think Christmas came more and more into its own in the USA starting with the southern colonies.

I have no problem with it. The Bible makes no direct reference to the holiday we use to celebrate Christ’s birth.

The majority of stores still do give Christmas Day off.

First off Scrooge was only funning with Bob the day after Christmas as any aficionado of the book and/or show knows. Secondly, Scrooge gave Cratchet Christmas off because of his contract. Thirdly, I was only saying God looks at us 365 days a year, and not just December 25th (which again I say is most likely not the birthdate of Christ).

Lastly, I do fellowship with my family on Christmas and would have left any employment that required otherwise. That however is only between the Employer and Employee and none of my business.

conveniences stores and gas stations might be open..but general retail sales would cease for a day.

You would be surprised how many people are having fast food burgers or pizza for Christmas dinner. Many young people don't care to cook.

I know, just could help myself, it was years ago when I went to work for a Christian company, the owner was was great, someone who walked the walk not just give lip service, But a couple of employees gave me that BS when i first started and my response was “Really?, have ya told the Pope because I don’t think he knows!” They shut up after that.

Banning Christmas and forcing people to work on Christmas is what this nation was founded on. The Mayflower crowd was totally doing both..,..

Fortunately the nation was somewhat Christianized in spite of the puritans objections.
