If you have read Holy Scripture, you know that God appreciates any kind of sacrifice. The reason why is that by acts of sacrifice, we show Our Lord that we are serious about what we are praying for. We show Him that it’s not just words we are saying but that we are giving up something, whether it be food, shelter, a certain comfortable lifestyle, or any other thing that we love, to show Him that we mean what we say in our petitions. It takes prayer from passive requesting to active requesting.

For those unimpressed, it’s a spiritual sacrificial thing. Rock on Mark!

I can. I’ve always believed more in reparations than penance.

Being pro-life is probably the number one indicator of being a conservative voter, Evangelicals for instance, vote about 75 and 80% republican.

Happy to be helpful! :) And I'll pray for your adult children as well.
A woman on Facebook told me a few years ago about her 40 Days of Adoration for Life (she adored one hour each day), saying it was "life-changing." I did a bit of a roll-eye to myself, thinking that was cool and all, but it would most likely be easier for me to crawl on shards of glass, since I'm not known for discipline, yet, I couldn't get her words "life-changing" out of my mind, and lo and behold that upcoming Easter (and the next one too!) I did the same thing for Lent (and for Life). I can't remember the woman's name who gave me this tip to thank her (she "breezed" into our FB page, and right back out), but I'll do so when I see her again. :)
My husband and I recently ran across a letter from Mother Teresa (on the wall of our Adoration Chapel's vestibule) which states in part...
"Spend as much time as possible in front of the Blessed Sacrament and He will fill you with His strength and His power."
"His strength" and "His power" indeed.
I photographed her letter; here it is.

Not only walking — but also praying.
That’s where the inspiration is.

‘Someone walking’ — you forgot — walking, praying, giving witness to all he meets, talking to others. Will he touch one life? How about 20? How many souls will be touched by his simple witness. He will never know, and neither will we. It only takes a small rock to change the course of a stream.
Or as Mother Theresa so beautifully put it - ‘it is one drop of water in the ocean.’

Re: ‘my adult children have fallen away.’ One of my sisters and her family were involved with a Swami here in California. We had a Bible study meeting at our home, and prayed for them for about TEN years. One day we got a call — ‘We are getting baptized next Sunday.” WHAT?? They had gotten a nudge from the Lord, gone to a local church, recognized work colleagues there! and never turned back.
Never stop praying.

Amazing story. He works in mysterious ways....
Oh, don’t worry, I will never stop praying.
St. Monica, mother of St. Augustine, prayed for him for 30 years.

He is doing SOMETHING.
Since when is Prayer, self-centered? It is the exact opposite.

“This year I decided to give them gifts of adoration. That is to say, I spent two hours [special] each for all of them in an Adoration Chapel fiercely praying.”
What a wonderful gift. God Bless you and your family.

Thank you. The price was right, and the Company was Superb! :)
A couple of our parishes in the area make gift cards now, which is a cool idea, because then one can actually hand over a pre-printed piece, with their receiver's name written in.
Adoration Rocks! ♥
