Mondays NOW with Alex Wagner on MSNBC started with some video footage of nuns singing songs to the elderly poor. But, judging by the discussion that ensued between Wagner and her two guests, youd think the Little Sisters of the Poor were more intimidating than the Sopranos.
The administration must now deal with this latest threat to the nations health care law: these ladies, the Little Sister of the Poor.
That was MSNBCs Wagner, who also actually said: It seems this administration has bent over backwards to ensure that people can exercise their religion and, Womens lives are being saved by provisions in the Affordable Care Act.
The host invited Planned Parenthood President Cecile Richards and former Governor Howard Dean (D-VT) on her show to discuss Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayors decision to delay Obamacares contraception mandate for the religious organization the Little Sisters of the Poor, a Denver-based group of Catholic nuns who run nursing homes for the poor. Wagner, Richards and Dean didnt seem to be impressed by these nuns admirable work and made it seem like the Obama administration was the victim in this case.
While Richards avoided attacking the nuns directly and instead tried to insist Obamacare would do wonders for young women, Dean didnt seem to have any problem calling out the Sisters.
First of all, this is an argument about whether the Sisters of the Poor have the right to force their views of religion on all their employees. Theyre trying to make this an argument about whether theyre gonna sign a paper or not. If the court should decide they dont have to sign the paper they essentially get to force their religion on all their employees.
Question: Isnt it safe to say people who willingly applied to work for the Little Sisters of the Poor are more likely than not to hold the same religious beliefs as their employer?
One only has to look at The Little Sisters of the Poor mission statement to understand their values:
Our vision is to contribute to the Culture of Life by nurturing communities where each person is valued, the solidarity of the human family and the wisdom of age are celebrated, and the compassionate love of Christ is shared with all.
Regardless of these lovely ladies compassionate efforts, Dean insisted the nuns were in the wrong. He also resurrected the annoying argument that Republicans are waging a war on women, noting, however, that women are recognizing how religious employers are forcing their views on them.
The average woman frames it that way herself. She doesnt has to be told what the Republicans and Fox News and all these people are doing to them. They know what theyre doing to them.
Planned Parenthood seemed to be okay with MSNBCs misleading attack on nuns and Republicans, tweeting their approval of the segment:
CLICK LIKE IF YOURE PRO-LIFE!
The Planned Parenthood Federation of America is an organization with about 800 clinic locations around the country and has a budget of $1 billion much of which goes toward abortion. Sisters of the Poor is an organization dedicated to the sanctity of life. Whos really the bigger threat here?
Watch the whole MSNBC segment below:
Christ and His teachings are a HUGE threat to the people that conform to this world.
The Little Sisters are a “threat?”
LOL! I can foresee some new training targets for Homeland Security.
Gee... Alex’s mom must be so, so fricking proud of him. Trash a bunch of nuns to defend a Kenyan Muslim.
Wonder if she’s thinking she should have seen the Planned Parenthood thing through to its certain conclusion.
satan’s network states CHRISTIAN Nuns are a threat... YES... THEY ARE A THREAT TO EVIL!
WTF are the Low Info Voters being conditioned for?
So far there are very few legal challenges to Obamacare...even now when many more people now have “standing” and are being forced to pay.
I hate to say this, but I think the RATS are going to win on this issue...they will create so many new parasites that will vote with them that we will not win the midterm elections..plus the market seems to still think the health care companies are doing great and are going to make even more money..so they forecast that this thing stays on the rails.
Nothing terrifies leftists more than people of morals and courage.
MSNBC is just living up to their fascist propaganda lineage.
So if the nuns “win”, are the pundits claiming that the employees will be prevented from getting a prescription for contraception and paying the ridiculously meager cash price? Is that what they’re saying?
Religion has a long history of “threatening” Communists.
Liberty is a threat to the plans of the master-minds.
“The meaning of peace is the absence of resistance to socialism.” — Marx
Eggs Ackley! When these dead-soul people whine it exposes for whom they work, whether they realize it or not. Self-identifying by these minions is a good thing don’tchaknow. ... Now, if we could just get our fellow Americans to awaken to the reality slowly suffocating them and aborting their sovereignty
Nuns have always been such a threat!
(Well, maybe to their students in Catholic schools), but I don’t think anyone else is threatened by them.
Christianity stands in the way of Marxism and is a threat.
Pray America is Waking
Greed at the top of the Corporate Ladder is causing a horrendous destruction of our society. Capitalism is fine, but when revenue and profit become the be-all-end-all of what’s most important, we are in for a rude awakening.
Money has trumped freedom.
Money has trumped liberty.
Money has trumped private property.
Womens lives are being saved by provisions in the Affordable Care Act.
What about the lives of future women who are being murdered on that filthy table by their ungodly mothers?
I keep seeing this and it is absolute BS. It's the employees who are forcing their views on the employer. The employees have every ability to go buy all the contraception they want. But they want their employer to be forced to provide them with free contraception. The employer isn't forcing their views on anyone by objecting to being forced to buy someone something that violates their religious views. This needs to made clear every single time someone puts forth this bogus "forcing their views" argument.
