What religion are you exactly? I’m wondering if anyone here should take your criticism seriously or not.

How about comparing what was posted, to what the current Pope is saying. Despite the waffling, they are different.

I was baptized Lutheran (Missouri Synod), attended a lot of church, and Sunday/vacation Bible school. Then the stretch of Catholicism I mentioned.

Experienced several different Christian denominations in the Army. I liked any denomination's services in the field in Vietnam, when we could get them.

Got very fond of choir singing myself in the Episcopal Church for awhile. Very rich musical tradition.

Had long wanted to visit a synagogue, and found a small shul where I cut my teeth for a couple of Torah cycles, and have been to several temples the past few years. Never much of a joiner though, I think of myself these days as an Old Testament believer, particularly Torah.

My view of Jesus is that he was moshiach in the sense that his influence, even as ofttimes represented darkly and nebulously across Eurasian history, nevertheless came to make the founding of the United States possible.

Nothing else could have done this.

While I was always uncomfortable with the idea of God as Man, I would still take the stretch and term myself an American Judeo-Christian who believes in God's Promise to Abraham through Israel and that America was Chosen of God to spread Freedom throughout the world...as tarnished that mission may seem of late.

Sprinkle in mathematics and physics - which I also believe are of God - and you get things like a whole independent 'language' just recently discovered embedded within the framework of DNA.

What an awesome Creation. What an incredible understatement.
