Therefore it is clear how unworthy of commendation are those preachers who are afraid to touch upon certain points of Christian doctrine lest they should give their hearers offense.

Has any post-Vatican II bishop, priest, or pope ever preached on "Outside the Catholic Church there is No Salvation"? I don't recall any (even the so-called "Tradition-friendly" Pope Benedict XVI)

Of course not. It's *too offensive*. The thing is that in this case I think it's the Catholic leaders who are also offended by it.

Of course it could also be that they think Trent was out of control. Scripture doesn't support the positions taken there. But if one is going to be Catholic, be Catholic, not this wishy-washy stance seemingly taken today. When the liberals of the world are applauding you, you are not doing anything for Christ. If Catholicism needs reformation, then do it, don't leave the Catholics faithful to Catholicism in limbo, no pun intended.
