Prayer for Our American Heroes and Nation

SOVEREIGN AND ETERNAL GOD, I prostrate myself today before YOUR ETERNAL GLORY, AMAZING GRACE, and RELENTLESS MERCY, pleading the cause of my own and of those of our men and women who serve this country. LORD, today I realized that many times I pray for the Salvation of those I love most so that MY HEART would rejoice, my hope will be at rest, but I ask not at the exclusion of realizing that SALVATION is FOR THE PRAISE and GLORY and HONOR OF YOUR NAME, first and foremost. Forgive me FATHER, that if in my Love and Zeal for them, I have so done so.

LORD, turn this prayer into that which is ETERNAL…SAVE our beloved heroes for YOUR GLORY, here and now, and then forever more. SAVE so that praises will be heard on the battlefield, in their homes, in their hearts, out their mouths, and sent forth among all whom they will connect with throughout their life. Dear LORD, I ask for you to save the soul of my son, my Courtney, not so much for my peace of mind, but for the added Praise to the GLORY of YOUR NAME throughout all Eternity.

James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask wrongly …. Dear LORD, we look now unto our country. O LORD, may we not be asking for THY FAVOR once again because our economy is in turmoil and we are sowing what we reap, but let our prayers be of a deeper value, that LOVE would abound, that CHARITY would persist, that families would be HEALED, that hearts would be REPENTENT, that voices would sing YOUR PRAISE…and we could say in TRUTH: GOD BLESS AMERICA with assurance once again. We thank YOU for are athletes, and those of the nations. Bless them continually as they represent the world from which you have made. Its encouraging to them all, in utmost respect for one another, be able to compete with a sense of peace and unity. OH LORD, we look to the day when this world will, IN UNITY, come to YOUR JERUSALEM, to see the LIVING LIGHT OF THE WORLD, reigning as King of King and Lord of Lords. We Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem as she waits for YOU. We ask all these things IN THE PRECIOUS NAME OF JESUS, in whom we live and move and have our being. AMEN.

IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.

AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and envelop them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. HEAVENLY FATHER, Lord of the Nations, unto Your Divine Mercy we commend the souls of these valiant men and women who have fallen in the service of our Beloved Nation and in defense of the Freedoms we hold dear. If this is an example of today's Army National Guard personnel then I would be afraid that the troops would not hesitate to fire on civilians, when they even have no respect for their dead.

Wisconsin Guard member suspended for posting offensive casket photo

A Wisconsin National Guard member who posted a picture showing soldiers goofing off while surrounding a casket during training for funeral honors details has been indefinitely suspended from the program that handles military funerals in Wisconsin.
