Almost 8,000 children have been singled out for targeted intervention as part of a pilot for the Scottish National Party's (SNP) controversial state guardian proposals, a Scottish newspaper has revealed.
The plans to assign every youngster a state-employed named personwhom a top lawyer says could cut across the rights of parentsare being voted on for the final time later today in Holyrood.
The scheme has been trialed in the Highlands since 2010, and a council spokeswoman says 7,927 children have been given a childs plan by a head teacher or health visitor.

It’s weird how all of a sudden, the communists just love abortion survivors to death. Makes me want to puke.
Meanwhile, Dems here in the US salivate while watching this.
I’m Scottish, not particularly religious, but I see this as developing the position of the state nomenklatura over the rest of society. Dissolving the family as a barrier between the direct dependency relationship between the individual and the state. Classic Leninist strategy - the scottish government aren’t communist, but are eagerly developing a “new class”, as described by dilas and burnham. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_class
Several groups have stated publicly that they will challenge this law in court as it contravens human rights laws.
Brave New World or Orwellian??
