Pray for me, that I may not flee for fear of the wolves.
As a catholic I am wondering how a decision to change popes is influenced by a soccer game can anyone help me understand this?
Is this satire? Please tell me this is satire.
This is about as misleading a headline as you can have. It was the World Youth Day that got moved up a year to avoid a conflict with the World Cup. Meanwhile, Benedict felt his health would not be good enough to attend the Youth Day either in 2013 or 2014, so he resigned early in favor of a healthier pope who could make the trip to Brazil.
This makes more sense, as I can see the need to have the Pontiff at World Youth Day. I am concerned that no matter how well intentioned however, Benedict was deceived into retiring too soon.
Nations have gone to war over a soccer game.
You can wash most of the Christianity out of the British establishment but the anti-Catholicism always leaves a nasty stain.
we used to have traditions and rules in this world....lines that could not be crossed...
and yet we have the know nothing idiot marxist as prez and we have a Pope who defyed all logic and tradtion "resigns" and a new Pope from the New world is elected...because of a soccer match?...
so glad they have their minds on the higher things in life...
